FIRST READING - Is 25:6-10a
"Indeed, this is our God; we looked to him, and he saved us! "
A reading from the Book of Isaiah
On this mountain[a] the Lord of hosts
will provide for all peoples
A feast of rich food and choice wines,
juicy, rich food and pure, choice wines.
7 On this mountain he will destroy
the veil that veils all peoples,
The web that is woven over all nations.
8 He will destroy death forever.
The Lord God will wipe away
the tears from all faces;
The reproach of his people he will remove
from the whole earth; for the Lord has spoken.
9 On that day it will be said:
“Indeed, this is our God; we looked to him, and he saved us!
This is the Lord to whom we looked;
let us rejoice and be glad that he has saved us!”
10 For the hand of the Lord will rest on this mountain,
but Moab will be trodden down
as straw is trodden down in the mire.
GOSPEL OF THE DAY - Mt 15:29-37
"My heart is moved with pity for the crowd, for they have been with me now for three days and have nothing to eat."
From the Gospel according to Matthew
29 Moving on from there Jesus walked by the Sea of Galilee, went up on the mountain, and sat down there. 30 Great crowds came to him, having with them the lame, the blind, the deformed, the mute, and many others. They placed them at his feet, and he cured them. 31 The crowds were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the deformed made whole, the lame walking, and the blind able to see, and they glorified the God of Israel.
[a] 32 Jesus summoned his disciples and said, “My heart is moved with pity for the crowd, for they have been with me now for three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, for fear they may collapse on the way.” 33 The disciples said to him, “Where could we ever get enough bread in this deserted place to satisfy such a crowd?” 34 Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” “Seven,” they replied, “and a few fish.” 35 He ordered the crowd to sit down on the ground. 36 Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, gave thanks,[b] broke the loaves, and gave them to the disciples, who in turn gave them to the crowds. 37 They all ate and were satisfied. They picked up the fragments left over—seven baskets full.

WEDNESDAY OF THE FIRST WEEK OF ADVENT (Mt 15:29-37)
THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE
Dear People of God,
In today’s Word of God, God the Father calls all His children to run to Him. For He is the One infinitely rich in mercy and kindness. No one possesses love like God the Father.
God the Father is the All-powerful and the All-Perfect one. He can do all things.
No one has power like Him, for all are merely creatures created by Him.
Even Satan, the strong forces of this world, are under the authority of God the Father.
But today people are greatly tempted by Satan, so they have abandoned God the Father and worshipped Satan as their lord.
God the Father wants His children to be vigilant against the temptations that Satan has presented. They are cunning and deceitful liars.
They have deceived many of God the Father's children, including those elite members chosen by Him.
In today's Word of God, God the Father instructs His children to have absolute trust in Him.
For, as He has revealed to humanity, He is the most powerful Being in this universe; no one possesses power and strength like Him. This was demonstrated through God the Second Person Himself when He came down to earth as a human being.
He clearly showed humanity part of His power when He raised the dead, gave sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf, and made the lame walk.
These are only a few things that God the Father allowed humanity to witness firsthand, merely to increase human faith.
However, the transcendence, omnipotence, and perfect goodness of God the Father are infinitely great, and the limited human intellect cannot fully comprehend them. We only know as much as He reveals.
Therefore, God the Father calls humanity to be vigilant for remaining faithful to God the Father, worshipping Him, and trusting absolutely in His power.
He is powerful over all things, but He especially excels in love and mercy toward humanity.
This is a great happiness for the children of men to have a God who is a Father so rich in mercy!
God the Father also taught His disciples that when following God the Father, they had to have absolute trust in His power, directing all things toward Him.
Only He possesses the power and strength to cast out Satan and accomplish all things.
God the Father wants all those who follow God to sacrifice themselves and cooperate with Him, for that is the opportunity He grants to humanity, so that humanity may possess the eternal happiness of the Kingdom of Heaven hereafter.
God the Father does not want to lose a single sheep, nor will He ever let any sheep go hungry or thirsty!
Therefore, overcome the difficulties and the very strong temptations of Satan, remain faithful to God the Father, and walk the path He has instructed, that is, to have reverence for God the Father and to love our fellow human beings as ourselves.
Stop harboring hatred, stop abandoning God the Father to worship Satan, and our souls and bodies will inherit the happiness of the Kingdom of Heaven, just as God the Father promised to humanity since ancient times.
Thanks be to God. Amen.
