FIRST READING - Is 11:1-10
"The spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him."
A reading from the Book of Isaiah
1 But a shoot shall sprout from the stump[c] of Jesse,
and from his roots a bud shall blossom.
2 [d]The spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him:
a spirit of wisdom and of understanding,
A spirit of counsel and of strength,
a spirit of knowledge and of fear of the Lord,
3 and his delight shall be the fear of the Lord.
Not by appearance shall he judge,
nor by hearsay shall he decide,
4 But he shall judge the poor with justice,
and decide fairly for the land’s afflicted.
He shall strike the ruthless with the rod of his mouth,
and with the breath of his lips he shall slay the wicked.
5 Justice shall be the band around his waist,
and faithfulness a belt upon his hips.
6 [e]Then the wolf shall be a guest of the lamb,
and the leopard shall lie down with the young goat;
The calf and the young lion shall browse together,
with a little child to guide them.
7 The cow and the bear shall graze,
together their young shall lie down;
the lion shall eat hay like the ox.
8 The baby shall play by the viper’s den,
and the child lay his hand on the adder’s lair.
9 They shall not harm or destroy on all my holy mountain;
for the earth shall be filled with knowledge of the Lord,
as water covers the sea.
10 On that day,
The root of Jesse,
set up as a signal for the peoples—
Him the nations will seek out;
his dwelling shall be glorious.
GOSPEL OF THE DAY - Lk 10:21-24
"At that very moment he rejoiced [in] the holy Spirit."
✠From the Gospel according to Luke
21 At that very moment he rejoiced [in] the holy Spirit and said, “I give you praise, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike.[a] Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will. 22 All things have been handed over to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him.”
23 Turning to the disciples in private he said, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see. 24 For I say to you, many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, but did not see it, and to hear what you hear, but did not hear it.”

TUESDAY OF THE FIRST WEEK OF ADVENT (Lk 10:21-24)
THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE
Dear People of God,
The Word of God in today's Gospel recounts how Jesus was moved by the Holy Spirit and offered a prayer to God the Father. God reveals that The Holy Trinity God is one God.
In God's plan of salvation, the Trinity God is always united, working together, and jointly accomplishing the salvation of mankind.
God the Father lets humanity know that the Triune God—God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit—is always united in all things and never separated.
Through the image of the unity of the Triune God, He also desires humanity to be united with the Triune God in His plan of salvation.
God wishes to teach everyone that when doing anything, everyone must also unite in prayer to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, asking the Triune God for enlightenment to know the holy will that God wants to instruct, so that from there they may live in intimate union as one in the love of the Triune God.
God reveals to humanity His power and might, and He also makes known the intention of God the Father to little ones. God the Father did not reveal Himself to the wise and intelligent, but instead revealed Himself to little ones.
Through this, God wishes to teach humanity that to recognize and receive the holy will of God the Father and the mystery of the Kingdom of Heaven, people must become little, humble, and simple with the empty heart. Only then will they be able to receive the powerful and mighty Word of God and His holy will. And then they can truly carry out the holy command of God the Father.
As for those who hold high positions or the wise who consider themselves knowledgeable enough, and they do not open their hearts to receive the powerful and mighty Word of God into their souls.
Therefore, God invites everyone to be vigilant to listen to and practice the Word that God teaches. We must become humble, little, simple, and lowly before God the Father, so that through this, God will grant additional strength and power to receive God's love and mercy.
For only the mercy of God can save the human soul from the captivity of Satan.
God loves all of humanity; He does not wish to lose a single soul. Therefore, He invites all of humanity to always listen to and receive the Word of God into their hearts, practicing exactly what the Word of God commands, that is, to live in love, charity, forgiveness, sacrifice, and justice. He also calls upon humans to run to God, to love God above all things and to love your neighbor as yourself.
If one lives this way, that person will dwell in the bosom of God the Father when He calls the one out of this world.
Thanks be to God. Amen.
