FIRST READING - Is 9:1-6
"For a child is born to us."
A reading from the Book of Isaiah
1 The people who walked in darkness
have seen a great light;
Upon those who lived in a land of gloom
a light has shone.
2 You have brought them abundant joy
and great rejoicing;
They rejoice before you as people rejoice at harvest,
as they exult when dividing the spoils.
3 For the yoke that burdened them,
the pole on their shoulder,
The rod of their taskmaster,
you have smashed, as on the day of Midian.[a]
4 For every boot that tramped in battle,
every cloak rolled in blood,
will be burned as fuel for fire.
5 For a child[b] is born to us, a son is given to us;
upon his shoulder dominion rests.
They name him Wonder-Counselor, God-Hero,
Father-Forever, Prince of Peace.
6 His dominion is vast
and forever peaceful,
Upon David’s throne, and over his kingdom,
which he confirms and sustains
By judgment and justice,
both now and forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this!
SECOND READING - Tt 2:11-14
"The grace of God has appeared, saving all [of] us."
A reading from the Letter of St. Paul to Titus
11 [a]For the grace of God has appeared, saving all 12 and training us to reject godless ways and worldly desires and to live temperately, justly, and devoutly in this age, 13 as we await the blessed hope, the appearance[b] of the glory of the great God and of our savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to deliver us from all lawlessness and to cleanse for himself a people as his own, eager to do what is good.
GOSPEL OF THE DAY - Lk 2:1-14
"For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you."
✠From the Gospel according to Luke
1 [a]In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus[b] that the whole world should be enrolled. 2 This was the first enrollment, when Quirinius was governor of Syria. 3 So all went to be enrolled, each to his own town. 4 And Joseph too went up from Galilee from the town of Nazareth to Judea, to the city of David that is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David, 5 to be enrolled with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child. 6 While they were there, the time came for her to have her child, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn son.[c] She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
8 [d]Now there were shepherds in that region living in the fields and keeping the night watch over their flock. 9 The angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were struck with great fear. 10 The angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 [e]For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Messiah and Lord. 12 And this will be a sign for you: you will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.” 13 And suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying:
14 [f]“Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

THE NATIVITY OF THE LORD (CHRISTMAS) - CHRISTMAS EVE MASS - Gospel (Luke 2:1-14)
Dear People of God,
Today's Word of God recounts to all people on this earth how the Son of God came down to earth to become man.
God reveals that from ancient times, the prophet Isaiah foretold that the Son of God would come down to earth to become man to bring peace, joy, and happiness to humanity. God is always and eternally the God of love, an eternal and endless love; in this world, there is no love greater than that of God the Father.
Therefore, the prophet Isaiah announced to all the people that when the people were living in misery and sin, walking in darkness, burdened by the yoke of the law and the sufferings brought by the world, it was at that time that God's love was manifested among mankind, which is the Son of God coming down to earth to become man like all other human beings.
The prophet Isaiah called the Son of God: “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty King, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace.” These very titles brought joy and happiness to humanity. He protected justice and righteousness for mankind. He reclaims truth, light, and righteousness to lead people to the love of God, a love that has been fulfilled for over two thousand years.
God lets humanity know that the Son of God came down to earth as man, born into a very poor, simple, and humble circumstance. He humbled Himself to dwell in the womb of a woman chosen by God, who is Mary. Saint Joseph was chosen by God to be the foster father of the Son of God. These two saints fulfilled the duty entrusted by God the Father and cooperated in His work of salvation.
God also shows that when the Son of God was born into the world as man, it was at that time that the light of the Most High shone upon all humanity; God was among mankind, surrounded by attendant angels; and the light of God enveloped all those who came to worship and revere the Son of God born into the world. At that time, the attendant angels sang praises to God, the Almighty Most High, who humbled Himself to become man so that humanity might share in the divine nature; this demonstrates how immense God's love for humanity is; there is no love greater than God's; and no one possesses such great modesty and humility as God. It is because of love that He was humbly born into the world as man to dwell with and accompany humanity, bringing eternal peace, joy, and happiness to mankind. He came to dispel darkness and sin, to free people from sorrow, hatred, and resentment, and to deliver them from the dark power of Satan, for the light of God always has the power to push back darkness and sin and to lead souls to the radiant presence of the Most High.
Today, God invites all of humanity to abandon the paths of sin or to abandon the unrighteous paths and to return to the path of light and love or to return to a God of peace, so that He may come and reign within their own souls. The God of peace will envelop all of humanity, envelop all souls who dare to walk the path of God's light and trust absolutely in His work, which is the reception of the Son of God entering the world as man to bring peace and happiness to mankind.
All who run to call upon the holy name of God will have their souls soothed by God, and be granted peace and happiness by God when they behold the majestic holy face of God residing in a tiny Infant lying in a poor manger.
At this very moment, in response to the boundless love of God the Father, He calls upon all of humanity to open their hearts to welcome the birth of the Son of God entering the world as man, to contemplate the face of the Prince of Peace reigning in the image of the Infant Jesus and within the soul of every person, to unite with the Virgin Mary, Saint Joseph, the angels, the saints in Heaven, and the entire Church along with all creation to sing, bless, and glorify the love and name of the Most High:
“Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to all whom the Lord favors.”
Thanks be to God. Amen
