FIRST READING - Wis 6:1-11
"Hear, therefore, kings, and understand; that you may learn wisdom and that you may not fall away."
A reading from the Book of Wisdom
1 Hear, therefore, kings, and understand;
learn, you magistrates[b] of the earth’s expanse!
2 Give ear, you who have power over multitudes
and lord it over throngs of peoples!
3 Because authority was given you by the Lord
and sovereignty by the Most High,
who shall probe your works and scrutinize your counsels!
4 Because, though you were ministers of his kingdom, you did not judge rightly,
and did not keep the law,[c]
nor walk according to the will of God,
5 Terribly and swiftly he shall come against you,
because severe judgment awaits the exalted—
6 For the lowly may be pardoned out of mercy
but the mighty shall be mightily put to the test.
7 For the Ruler of all shows no partiality,
nor does he fear greatness,
Because he himself made the great as well as the small,
and provides for all alike;
8 but for those in power a rigorous scrutiny impends.
9 To you, therefore, O princes, are my words addressed
that you may learn wisdom and that you may not fall away.
10 For those who keep the holy precepts hallowed will be found holy,
and those learned in them will have ready a response.[d]
11 Desire therefore my words;
long for them and you will be instructed.
GOSPEL OF THE DAY - Lk 17:11-19
"Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God?"
✠From the Gospel according to Luke
11 As he continued his journey to Jerusalem, he traveled through Samaria and Galilee.[a] 12 As he was entering a village, ten lepers met [him]. They stood at a distance from him 13 and raised their voice, saying, “Jesus, Master! Have pity on us!” 14 And when he saw them, he said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.”[b] As they were going they were cleansed. 15 And one of them, realizing he had been healed, returned, glorifying God in a loud voice; 16 and he fell at the feet of Jesus and thanked him. He was a Samaritan. 17 Jesus said in reply, “Ten were cleansed, were they not? Where are the other nine? 18 Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God?” 19 Then he said to him, “Stand up and go; your faith has saved you.”

32ND WEDNESDAY IN ORDINARY TIME - Gospel (Luke 17:11-19)
THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE
Dear People of God,
In today’s Word of God, God the Father calls everyone to give thanks to Him at all times and in all places. For from the very moment that a person is born into this world, it is already a grace freely given by God the Father.
Thus, throughout a person’s life, it is always a succession of graces.”
Therefore, God the Father calls everyone to live with a heart of thanksgiving to Him in all circumstances, for all people are loved, safeguarded, protected, and granted the gift of being born into this world by Him.
It is a blessing for humanity, for no one is born outside the will of God the Father.” Therefore, God the Father calls everyone to always live in a spirit of gratitude to Him, and to find joy in the fact that He has lovingly chosen, called, and granted us life in this world, so that we may share in the happiness of His love together with Him and all our fellow brothers and sisters.
Furthermore, God the Father also allows us to collaborate in His plan of salvation and in the perfect building of this world according to His divine will.
The Word of God teaches us to always live in a spirit of gratitude to God the Father in all circumstances, not only to return and give thanks to Him when He heals our souls and bodies.
In addition, God the Father calls us to remain vigilant against the temptations of Satan, for they do not want us to come close to God the Father to give Him thanks, to worship Him, and to put His teachings into practice.
As in the parable of the ten lepers in today’s Gospel, they were all healed of leprosy by God the Father. Yet nine of them did not return to give thanks to Him, because Satan had closed their ears and blinded their eyes, preventing them from recognizing the grace that God had just bestowed upon them, and Satan continued to tempt them into arrogance, making them believe that their healing came from their own merit and strength. In doing so, they forgot the presence of Jesus, who had passed through their lives and healed their grave illness, allowing them to integrate into the life of the community.”
Through this, God the Father teaches us to be watchful against Satan's temptations. They are very sophisticated in leading people to forget to give thanks to God, and even to forget God Himself. Therefore, we must always remember that even in times of suffering, when we endure trials, or when we are being condemned, persecuted, and whether we succeed or fail, we must always lift words of thanksgiving to God the Father.
We must know how to offer our whole being, our souls, and our minds in a hymn of praise and thanksgiving to Him, for this is pleasing to Him.
Thanks be to God. Amen.
