“They all ate and were satisfied.” (Mt 15:37)

BÀI ĐỌC 1 - Is 25:6-10a

A reading from the Book of Isaiah

On this mountain the LORD of hosts

will provide for all peoples

A feast of rich food and choice wines,

juicy, rich food and pure, choice wines.

On this mountain he will destroy

the veil that veils all peoples,

The web that is woven over all nations;

he will destroy death forever.

The Lord GOD will wipe away

the tears from all faces;

The reproach of his people he will remove

from the whole earth; for the LORD has spoken.

On that day it will be said:

"Behold our God, to whom we looked to save us!

This is the LORD for whom we looked;

let us rejoice and be glad that he has saved us!"

For the hand of the LORD will rest on this mountain.

GOSPEL OF THE DAY - Mt 15:29-37

From the Gospel according to Matthew

At that time:

Jesus walked by the Sea of Galilee,

went up on the mountain, and sat down there.

Great crowds came to him,

having with them the lame, the blind, the deformed, the mute,

and many others.

They placed them at his feet, and he cured them.

The crowds were amazed when they saw the mute speaking,

the deformed made whole,

the lame walking,

and the blind able to see,

and they glorified the God of Israel.

Jesus summoned his disciples and said,

"My heart is moved with pity for the crowd,

for they have been with me now for three days

and have nothing to eat.

I do not want to send them away hungry,

for fear they may collapse on the way."

The disciples said to him,

"Where could we ever get enough bread in this deserted place

to satisfy such a crowd?"

Jesus said to them, "How many loaves do you have?"

"Seven," they replied, "and a few fish."

He ordered the crowd to sit down on the ground.

Then he took the seven loaves and the fish,

gave thanks, broke the loaves,

and gave them to the disciples, who in turn gave them to the crowds.

They all ate and were satisfied.

They picked up the fragments left over–seven baskets full.

WEDNESDAY OF THE FIRST WEEK OF ADVENT - Gospel - (Mt 15:29-37)

THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE

Dear People of God,

Today's Word of God, God the Father calls all of His children to run to Him. Because He is the One who is infinitely merciful and compassionate. There is no love like the love of God the Father.

God the Father is the all-powerful and perfect One, and He can do anything. Since all creatures are created by Him, no one has power like Him. Even the powerful forces of this world, which is Satan, are under the authority of God the Father.

Nevertheless, humans today are so greatly tempted by Satan that they have abandoned God the Father and worshipped Satan as their God. God the Father wants His children to be vigilant to the temptations that Satan has brought.

They are cunning and deceptive creatures. They have deceived many of God the Father's children, including the elite chosen by Him.

In today's Word of God, God the Father teaches His children to have absolute trust in Him. As He revealed to mankind, He is the most powerful being in this universe. No one has the same strength and power as Him.

That was demonstrated by the Second Person of God when He came to earth to become a human being. He showed mankind a part of His power when He raised the dead to life, giving sight to the blind, giving hearing to the deaf, and giving the lame the ability to walk.

Those are things God the Father allows mankind to witness with their own eyes to increase their faith. However, the transcendence, omnipotence, and perfection of God the Father are so great that humans cannot fully comprehend due to their limited understanding.

It is only what He reveals to us that we know.

Therefore, God the Father calls upon humanity to be vigilant, to be faithful to God the Father, to worship, and to have absolute faith in His power. While He is powerful over all things, He is especially superior in his love and mercy for mankind.

It is a great happiness for the children of mankind to have such a merciful God as a Father.

God the Father also teaches His disciples that when following God the Father, they must have absolute trust in His power and make everything turn towards Him.

It is only He who has the power and strength to expel Satan and do all things.

God the Father wants all those who follow God to sacrifice themselves and cooperate with Him.

This is because that is the opportunity He gives to mankind so that mankind can attain the eternal happiness of the Kingdom of Heaven in the future.

God the Father does not want to lose any sheep, nor will he ever let any sheep go hungry or thirsty.

Therefore, overcome the difficulties and

strong temptations of Satan, be faithful to God the Father and follow the path that He has taught: to fear God the Father and love your fellow human beings as yourself.

Don't harbor hatred any longer.

Do not abandon God the Father,

Do not worship Satan anymore, then your soul and body will attain the happiness of the Kingdom of Heaven as God the Father has promised to give to mankind since ancient times.

Thanks be to God. Amen.
