MONDAY OF THE FIRST WEEK OF ADVENT - Gospel (Mt 8:5-11) - THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE

“In no one in Israel have I found such faith.” (Mt 8:10)

FIRST READING - Is 2:1-5

A reading from the Book of Isaiah

This is what Isaiah, son of Amoz,

saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.

In days to come,

The mountain of the LORD's house

shall be established as the highest mountain

and raised above the hills.

All nations shall stream toward it;

many peoples shall come and say:

"Come, let us climb the LORD's mountain,

to the house of the God of Jacob,

That he may instruct us in his ways,

and we may walk in his paths."

For from Zion shall go forth instruction,

and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

He shall judge between the nations,

and impose terms on many peoples.

They shall beat their swords into plowshares

and their spears into pruning hooks;

One nation shall not raise the sword against another,

nor shall they train for war again.

O house of Jacob, come,

let us walk in the light of the LORD!

GOSPEL OF THE DAY - Mt 8:5-11

From the Gospel according to Matthew

When Jesus entered Capernaum,

a centurion approached him and appealed to him, saying,

"Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, suffering dreadfully."

He said to him, "I will come and cure him."

The centurion said in reply,

"Lord, I am not worthy to have you enter under my roof;

only say the word and my servant will be healed.

For I too am a man subject to authority,

with soldiers subject to me.

And I say to one, 'Go,' and he goes;

and to another, 'Come here,' and he comes;

and to my slave, 'Do this,' and he does it."

When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him,

"Amen, I say to you, in no one in Israel have I found such faith.

I say to you, many will come from the east and the west,

and will recline with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob

at the banquet in the Kingdom of heaven."

THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE

Dear People of God,

The Word of God in today's Gospel speaks of a centurion's absolute faith in God when he asks Jesus to heal his servant.

Through the example of the centurion's faith, God wants to teach everyone that when someone has absolute faith in God's love, runs to Him, earnestly begs and pleads to the merciful Father, He will grant them grace according to that person's faith, as He said: "Your faith will save you!"

God is the God of all creatures and the common Father of all mankind in this world. In the presence of God the Father, there is no distinction between religions, races, skin colors, or classes. God is the Father and we all are His children.

Therefore, He wants mankind to love each other and only respect and worship Him as the only One; because He created this entire universe, and He is the only One who truly understands and loves mankind the most.

Besides Him, no one has a greater love for mankind than God. God wants mankind to turn to and run to God, the Supreme Being, the One with power and strength, the only One who brings eternal life to mankind.

The Word of God today calls all humanity to come to the Supreme Being, the only One. He will heal all diseases of the body as well as the soul. He will remove all suffering and cast out all the imprisonment that Satan has brought to the human soul for so long.

God loves mankind, He wants everyone to run to Him. Just one word from God will make all diseases, all Satan will have to run away from mankind; but on the condition that the person must have absolute faith in God's love, and believe in His power and strength, then He will do everything for everyone.

God has come, He is among humanity and accompanies humans; so everyone should run to the God of love, He will cover all suffering, all sadness, and all anxiety brought by the world.

God does not want humanity to fall into the temptations and the traps of Satan, because they are deceiving humans so that people do not run to the God of love but instead worship and put the value of material things above all.

Through the story of today's Gospel, God wants to tell all humanity to have absolute faith in God's love and have absolute trust in His power like that centurion.

Because of his great love for his servant, he sought a physician, anxiously searching for every possible way to find a cure for him.

God knew his heart, so He gave him the opportunity to meet the greatest physician, which is God, and He healed his servant.

It was because of the centurium's love for his servant and his absolute faith in God's strength and power that God heard his prayer and healed his beloved servant.

God wants everyone to look at the example of the centurion's faith, to imitate and also have love for others, and to have absolute trust in the power and might of God who heals all diseases and disabilities in this world.

In the work of sanctification of the Holy Spirit in the new era. He wishes to have more generous hearts who know how to love their fellow human beings like the centurion, courageously engaging in this work, so that through it, God can use His finger to heal and grant the grace of conversion to mankind of this era, whose souls are being controlled and dominated by layers of Satan.
