“I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now.” (Jn 16:12)

FIRST READING - 8:22-31

A reading from the Book of Proverbs

Thus says the wisdom of God:

"The LORD possessed me, the beginning of his ways,

the forerunner of his prodigies of long ago;

from of old I was poured forth,

at the first, before the earth.

When there were no depths I was brought forth,

when there were no fountains or springs of water;

before the mountains were settled into place,

before the hills, I was brought forth;

while as yet the earth and fields were not made,

nor the first clods of the world.

"When the Lord established the heavens I was there,

when he marked out the vault over the face of the deep;

when he made firm the skies above,

when he fixed fast the foundations of the earth;

when he set for the sea its limit,

so that the waters should not transgress his command;

then was I beside him as his craftsman,

and I was his delight day by day,

playing before him all the while,

playing on the surface of his earth;

and I found delight in the human race."

SECOND READING from the Letter of St. Paul to the Romans - 5:1-5

Brothers and sisters:

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith,

we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

through whom we have gained access by faith

to this grace in which we stand,

and we boast in hope of the glory of God.

Not only that, but we even boast of our afflictions,

knowing that affliction produces endurance,

and endurance, proven character,

and proven character, hope,

and hope does not disappoint,

because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts

through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.

GOSPEL OF THE DAY - 16:12-15

From the Gospel according to John

Jesus said to his disciples:

"I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now.

But when he comes, the Spirit of truth,

he will guide you to all truth.

He will not speak on his own,

but he will speak what he hears,

and will declare to you the things that are coming.

He will glorify me,

because he will take from what is mine and declare it to you.

Everything that the Father has is mine;

for this reason I told you that he will take from what is mine

and declare it to you."

THE SOLEMNITY OF THE MOST HOLY TRINITY- YEAR C - Gospel (Jn 16:12-15)

THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE

Dear People of God,

Today, the whole Church solemnly celebrates the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity.

God is the Absolute Almighty; humans cannot fully understand or comprehend His ways: "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, my thoughts higher than your thoughts" (Isaiah 55:9). In the Old Testament, the Jewish people understood that "The LORD is our God, the LORD alone!" (Deuteronomy 6:4). While teaching the apostles, Jesus said: "The Father and I are one" and also spoke of "the Advocate, the Holy Spirit that the Father will send in my name." Because of these revelations, Christians recognize that God is Three Persons.

Today, God desires to reveal more about this divine mystery. To understand it, we must ask the Holy Spirit to enlighten our minds and open our hearts, so that we may hear, understand, and receive what God wishes to reveal to humanity.

The Holy Trinity is one God. In His Kingdom, there is no division between the Three Persons. On earth, however, people refer to each Person individually to distinguish the different works of each. In Heaven, the Holy Trinity has one title and one name: "God the Father."

God wants people to understand that, because human understanding is still limited and weak, He named the Three Persons of God—God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit—to help people recognize and distinguish each role in His work of creation and salvation. All Three Persons belong to the One God of love and are one God.

God the Father is the Creator of heaven and earth and of all humankind. When humanity sinned, because of His love and mercy, God did not abandon us. He promised to send a Savior—this is the Second Person of the Holy Trinity. He allowed humanity to cooperate in His plan of salvation, choosing Mary to take the place of Eve, the first woman. Mary, the Immaculate Conception, was chosen to be the Mother of God.

Jesus Christ died and rose again. Before ascending into Heaven, He promised to send the Advocate—the Holy Spirit—to be with and guide us.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Love, proceeding from God the Father and God the Son.

According to the thinking and analysis of theologians, they have divided God into three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. However, the Holy Trinity is also the only One God, never separate from each other.

This argument tells people that:

-God the Father created the heavens, the earth, and all things.

-God the Father also came down to earth as a human being and saved mankind.

-God the Father is also the Holy Spirit, the Protector and companion of mankind.

In the Gospel of John, Jesus Christ says: “I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now.” Indeed, Jesus wanted to reveal many things about the Kingdom of Heaven, but because of people's weak faith, they were not yet able to bear what He had to say. Therefore, Jesus said that when He returned to God the Father, He would send the Holy Spirit, who would help them remember and understand all that He had taught. Jesus also said that whatever the Holy Spirit hears and sees, He will declare to the people exactly as it is. The words of God the Father are also the words of Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit never speaks anything contrary to what Jesus Himself heard from God the Father taught (see John 16:14–15).

In today's era, under the influence of the Holy Spirit's enlightenment, people understand that: in heaven and on earth there is only one God, that is the God of Love. The division into three Persons is to help people easily understand and distinguish the different works in the plan of creation and salvation of humanity: God the Father creates, God the Son redeems, and God the Holy Spirit sanctifies. Therefore, when Jesus Christ suffered, carried the Cross, and died, it was also the suffering of God the Father, because Jesus and God the Father are one (John 10:30).

Today, God wants to say to all His children: Do not separate God the Father from His work of creation and redemption. People should not think that God the Father's creation plan is separate. For God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit are One God. So when Jesus Christ came to earth to save humanity, it was not only the Son acting separately, but it was God the Father who humbled Himself to become a man, suffered, and died on the cross. And now, in this present time—the time of the Holy Spirit’s activity—it is not only the Holy Spirit who sanctifies, protects, and walks with us, but it is also God the Father who is always with His people.

And now, at this very moment, God wants to tell all humanity:

There is only one God the Father, and Mary is rightfully called the Mother of God the Father, in accordance with His will.

Thanks be to God. Amen.
