FIRST READING - Wis 3:1-9
"Those who trust in him shall understand truth, and the faithful shall abide with him in love."
A reading from the Book of Wisdom
1 The souls of the righteous are in the hand of God,
and no torment shall touch them.
2 They seemed, in the view of the foolish, to be dead;
and their passing away was thought an affliction
3 and their going forth from us, utter destruction.
But they are in peace.
4 For if to others, indeed, they seem punished,
yet is their hope full of immortality;
5 Chastised a little, they shall be greatly blessed,
because God tried them
and found them worthy of himself.
6 As gold in the furnace, he proved them,
and as sacrificial offerings[c] he took them to himself.
7 In the time of their judgment[d] they shall shine
and dart about as sparks through stubble;
8 They shall judge nations and rule over peoples,
and the Lord shall be their King forever.
9 Those who trust in him shall understand truth,
and the faithful shall abide with him in love:
Because grace and mercy are with his holy ones,
and his care is with the elect.
SECOND READING - Rom 5:5-11
"We are now justified by his blood, will we be saved through him from the wrath."
From the Letter of St. Paul to the Romans
5 Brothers and sisters: hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the holy Spirit that has been given to us. 6 For Christ, while we were still helpless, yet died at the appointed time for the ungodly. 7 Indeed, only with difficulty does one die for a just person, though perhaps for a good person one might even find courage to die.[a] 8 But God proves his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us. 9 How much more then, since we are now justified by his blood, will we be saved through him from the wrath. 10 Indeed, if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how much more, once reconciled, will we be saved by his life. 11 Not only that, but we also boast of God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
GOSPEL OF THE DAY - Jn 6:37-40
"Everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life, and I shall raise him [on] the last day."
✠From the Gospel according to John
37 Everything that the Father gives me will come to me, and I will not reject anyone who comes to me, 38 because I came down from heaven not to do my own will but the will of the one who sent me. 39 And this is the will of the one who sent me, that I should not lose anything of what he gave me, but that I should raise it [on] the last day. 40 For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life, and I shall raise him [on] the last day.”

THE COMMEMORATION OF ALL THE FAITHFUL DEPARTED (ALL SOULS) Gospel (Jn 6:37-40)
Dear People of God,
Today's Word of God speaks of commemorating the souls in purgatory.
God loves the souls in purgatory as much as those living on earth; He does not want to lose a single soul. Therefore, He descended from heaven to earth, humbling Himself to become a human like all others. He did not care for worldly glory and honor, but only wished to save many souls for God.
Thus, He had to sacrifice Himself, suffering and dying on the cross, and rose again to save humanity from sin, to help people escape the captivity of Satan, and to grant them resurrection with God.
God loves humanity and the souls in purgatory, so He teaches people to live in a way that pleases Him while they live on earth, for when God calls them out of this life, they will be granted to behold His holy presence.
But because humanity is very weak and easy to fall into Satan's temptations, and to commit many sins displeasing to God; so, upon departing this life, the soul and body must undergo purification in purgatory to atone justly for the deeds of each person does while living on earth.
Therefore, today, God invites everyone to always remember the souls still in purgatory, the place of purification for souls to become clean.
For souls to become clean, they must rely on the grace and mercy of God, manifested through others, those who are still living on this earth, who still have the opportunity to perform good and meritorious deeds, acts of sacrifice, charity, and love to atone for the sins of those souls.
The souls in purgatory are suffering greatly because they are forgotten by everyone while they need the sacrifices and good, meritorious deeds of those still living on this earth , so that God will lessen their punishment.
However, today people are only concerned with material enjoyment in this world, rarely remembering the souls in purgatory. God does not want people, who are living on this earth, to forget or be indifferent to the souls undergoing purification, being burned by fire in purgatory; for these souls deeply long for and await the sacrifices and good and meritorious deeds of everyone living in the world to help atone for the sins they have committed. For God reveals that people can only perform meritorious acts for atonement right here on this earth; once they die, they can do nothing more! For when they enter purgatory, they can only await God's merciful compassion to reach them through the prayers and sacrifices of those still living on this earth.
Today's Word of God also reminds everyone to look at the image of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who came down from heaven to earth to redeem humanity. He taught to help everyone live and do what God desires, so that when they leave this world, everyone will soon enjoy the holy presence of God.
He sacrificed, suffered death, and rose again to redeem humanity from sin; through that grace, when people are called by God out of this world, they will not have to undergo much purification or atonement for their sins.
To help souls soon enjoy the holy presence of God, He invites everyone to love the souls in purgatory, to perform all acts of sacrifice to implore God to show righteousness, justice, and mercy on the souls imprisoned in purgatory to atone for their sins, and to help those souls soon enjoy the holy presence of God.
Have mercy on the souls in purgatory, which is God's invitation to all humanity today; for having mercy and helping souls is also an opportunity for one to gain merit for oneself later, so that when God calls that one out of this world, through those merits and sacrifices, that one's soul will be able to atone for sins and soon enjoy His holy presence in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Thanks be to God. Amen.
