FIRST READING - Acts 8:5-8, 14-17
"They laid hands on them and they received the holy Spirit."
A reading from the Book of the Acts of the Apostles
5 Thus Philip went down to [the] city of Samaria and proclaimed the Messiah to them. 6 With one accord, the crowds paid attention to what was said by Philip when they heard it and saw the signs he was doing. 7 For unclean spirits, crying out in a loud voice, came out of many possessed people, and many paralyzed and crippled people were cured. 8 There was great joy in that city.
14 Now when the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent them Peter and John, 15 who went down and prayed for them, that they might receive the holy Spirit, 16 for it had not yet fallen upon any of them; they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.[a] 17 Then they laid hands on them and they received the holy Spirit.
SECOND READING - 1 Pt 3:15-18
"Put to death in the flesh, he was brought to life in the spirit."
A Reading from the First Letter of St. Peter
5 but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts. Always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope, 16 but do it with gentleness and reverence, keeping your conscience clear, so that, when you are maligned, those who defame your good conduct in Christ may themselves be put to shame. 17 For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that be the will of God, than for doing evil.
18 For Christ also suffered[a] for sins once, the righteous for the sake of the unrighteous, that he might lead you to God. Put to death in the flesh, he was brought to life in the spirit.
GOSPEL OF THE DAY - Jn 14:15-21
"I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate."
✠From the Gospel according to John
15 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate[a] to be with you always, 17 the Spirit of truth,[b] which the world cannot accept, because it neither sees nor knows it. But you know it, because it remains with you, and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.[c] 19 In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me, because I live and you will live. 20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father and you are in me and I in you. 21 Whoever has my commandments and observes them is the one who loves me. And whoever loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him.”

SIXTH SUNDAY OF EASTER - YEAR A - Gospel (John 14:15-21)
THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE
Dear People of God,
In today's Word of God, the Lord reveals the power of the Holy Spirit to all humanity.
Before Jesus Christ ascended into heaven, He still loved humanity and wanted to continue accompanying and being with mankind, so He promised that He would send the Holy Spirit to all humanity.
Anyone who believes in God will always have the power of the Holy Spirit with them.
It is through the Holy Spirit working within those who believe in God that all their thoughts, words, actions, and deeds become pleasing to God the Father; and when they ask for the Holy Spirit to guide and work within them, their prayers will be answered by God.
Like the image of the apostles in the past, when they laid their hands and prayed over others, they were granted grace by the Holy Spirit.
In today's world, if humanity does not have the Holy Spirit working and guiding them, they will only live in worldly passion and sin. Therefore, let humanity give thanks to God the Father for sending the Holy Spirit to work within us.
Today's Word of God also introduces humanity to the power of the Holy Trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. In God's work of salvation, from beginning to completion, the Holy Trinity always works together in perfect unity.
It is through the power of the Holy Trinity that sinful people will be transformed and know how to return to God the Father.
God the Father also invites humanity to glorify His holy name in the name of the Holy Trinity.
Never forget to worship the Holy Trinity, the only One who saves humanity.
God lets humanity know that without the work of the Holy Spirit, humanity will not be resurrected with God the Father. For in God's work of salvation in this present age, God promises to send the Holy Spirit to work upon those who believe absolutely in God the Father and believe in the words proclaimed by Jesus Christ: He will send the Holy Spirit to work and remain with humanity.
But the world does not believe in the Holy Spirit working within humanity. Therefore, Satan attacks and tempts humanity not to follow the fruits of the Holy Spirit.
Today, God the Father invites humanity to open their hearts to receive the work of the Holy Spirit, so that humanity may fulfill the commandment taught by God the Father, which is: to worship and love God the Father above all things and to love your neighbor as yourself.
It is through the power of the Holy Spirit that humanity will be able to do what God the Father desires. Especially for those who are walking in the work of God the Father in this new era, He invites them to:
Listen to the word of God the Father and put it into practice.
Open their hearts to receive the work of the Holy Spirit; only then will they have the strength to fight against Satan, have the power of the Holy Spirit working within them to lay hands and heal the sick, and have the strength to call people to abandon the path of sin and return to God the Father.
As in the early days, the apostles were granted the power of the Holy Spirit, and they were able to save many souls for God the Father.
God the Father further invites humanity in this present age:
Believe absolutely that this is the work of God the Father with the activity of the Holy Trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Receive the power from the Holy Trinity, so that the power of the Holy Trinity may work within the very people whom God the Father chooses and uses as effective instruments in the work of God the Father.
For those who come to God, listen to His Word, and put it into practice, the power of the Holy Spirit will work within their very souls, helping them to please God the Father in all their deeds.
Thanks be to God. Amen.
