FIRST READING - Acts 13:26-33
"God promised our ancestors he has brought to fulfillment for us, [their] children, by raising up Jesus."
A reading from the Book of the Acts of the Apostles
26 “My brothers, children of the family of Abraham, and those others among you who are God-fearing, to us this word of salvation has been sent. 27 The inhabitants of Jerusalem and their leaders failed to recognize him, and by condemning him they fulfilled the oracles of the prophets that are read sabbath after sabbath. 28 For even though they found no grounds for a death sentence, they asked Pilate to have him put to death, 29 and when they had accomplished all that was written about him, they took him down from the tree and placed him in a tomb. 30 But God raised him from the dead, 31 and for many days he appeared to those who had come up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem. These are [now] his witnesses before the people.[a] 32 We ourselves are proclaiming this good news to you that what God promised our ancestors 33 he has brought to fulfillment for us, [their] children, by raising up Jesus, as it is written in the second psalm, ‘You are my son; this day I have begotten you.’
GOSPEL OF THE DAY - Jn 14:1-6
"I am the way and the truth and the life."
✠From the Gospel according to John
1 [a]“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith[b] in God; have faith also in me. 2 In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? 3 [c]And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am you also may be. 4 Where [I] am going you know the way.”[d] 5 Thomas said to him, “Master, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way and the truth[e] and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

FRIDAY OF THE FOURTH WEEK OF EASTER - GOSPEL (John 14:1-6)
The Word of God for Everyone.
Dear people of God,
In today's Word of God, Jesus says to His disciples: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me.”
Jesus calls upon His disciples to trust, surrender, and place their hope in God.
God is the source of boundless and infinite love.
He always opens His arms wide to embrace His disciples, and He always brings them happiness and peace as they follow Him.
He is the source of peace; in Him, there is no suffering or sin.
Yet, out of love, He obeyed God the Father, came down to earth, and sacrificed His life to save humanity.
“Love is stronger than death.”
His death possesses the power to save all people in the world, without exception.
Jesus also said: “I am the way and the Truth and the Life.”
God the Father calls upon the disciples, as well as all who desire to attain an eternal, happy life,
To walk on the path that Jesus has walked: the path of righteousness, charity, and love.
To live according to the teachings of God the Father so that everyone may walk steadily on the path of Jesus Christ.
For it is only through Jesus Christ that humanity can come to God the Father, who is the source of eternal life.
Look upon the example of Jesus' love and sacrifice, who died hanging upon the cross for the sins of humanity, and by living according to His example, one will dwell with God the Father in the Kingdom of Heaven.
May is the month dedicated to offering flowers in honor of the Blessed Mother; God invites us to:
Listen to the counsel of Our Lady of Fatima: “Pray the Rosary diligently to save souls.”
Blessed Mother Mary will answer the prayers of those who cherish a deep devotion to her and diligently pray the Rosary.
Through the prayers of the Rosary, we are guided into contemplation of the life of Jesus Christ, and whoever desires to enter the Kingdom of Heaven must come through Jesus Christ, for He is the way to the Father and to the Kingdom of Heaven.
These are the Words God revealed to the Blessed Mother to convey and calling upon all His children to live by and put into practice what He has commanded, and to carry out the call of Our Lady of Fatima.
Thanks be to God. Amen.
