FIRST READING - Acts 11:19-26
"Those who had been scattered by the persecution that arose preaching the word to the Greeks as well."
A reading from the Book of the Acts of the Apostles
19 Now those who had been scattered by the persecution that arose because of Stephen went as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to no one but Jews. 20 There were some Cypriots and Cyrenians among them, however, who came to Antioch and began to speak to the Greeks as well, proclaiming the Lord Jesus. 21 The hand of the Lord was with them and a great number who believed turned to the Lord. 22 The news about them reached the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas [to go] to Antioch. 23 When he arrived and saw the grace of God, he rejoiced and encouraged them all to remain faithful to the Lord in firmness of heart, 24 for he was a good man, filled with the holy Spirit and faith. And a large number of people was added to the Lord. 25 Then he went to Tarsus to look for Saul, 26 and when he had found him he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they met with the church and taught a large number of people, and it was in Antioch that the disciples were first called Christians.[a]
GOSPEL OF THE DAY - Jn 10:22-30
"The Father and I are one."
✠From the Gospel according to John
22 The feast of the Dedication[a] was then taking place in Jerusalem. It was winter. 23 [b]And Jesus walked about in the temple area on the Portico of Solomon. 24 So the Jews gathered around him and said to him, “How long are you going to keep us in suspense?[c] If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.” 25 Jesus answered them, “I told you[d] and you do not believe. The works I do in my Father’s name testify to me. 26 But you do not believe, because you are not among my sheep. 27 My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish. No one can take them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all,[e] and no one can take them out of the Father’s hand. 30 [f]The Father and I are one.”

TUESDAY OF THE FOURTH WEEK OF EASTER - Gospel (John 10:22-30)
THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE
Dear People of God,
Today's Word of God makes it known to humanity that Jesus Christ is the Good Shepherd.
He says: “My sheep hear My voice; I know them, and they follow Me.
I give them eternal life.
The Father and I are one.”
God is the source of eternal life.
He always loves all humanity.
All those who wish to have eternal life, who wish to be happy and at peace, must go through the ‘gate’ of this source of life.
This gate of the source of life is Jesus Christ; He comes from God the Father, who is the most high.
No one has power like Him. Those who wish to follow the Good Shepherd should listen to and follow in the footsteps of the Most Holy Teacher Jesus.
He is the true Shepherd.
He protects, guards, and shields His flock day and night from the thief, Satan, who is always lurking and waiting for an opportunity to snatch away the soul of each person.
Today's Word of God says to humanity:
God always grants humanity freedom.
-If we wish to follow God, we should seek and remain in His Word and follow God’s call.
-Listen to and follow the Word of God taught in the Bible, taught through the voice of conscience, and taught through His Church.
For the purpose of human life is to have God with us and to walk together on His path of righteousness.
For having God is having everything!
Those who are wise and wish to have eternal life should listen to the teachings of God and follow His path, the path of truth and life.
Thus, no one will be able to snatch that person's soul out of the protecting and guarding hands of God the Father.
Thanks be to God. Amen.
