FRIDAY OF THE FIRST WEEK OF ADVENT (Mt 9:27-31) - THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE

FIRST READING - Is 29:17-24
"On that day, the eyes of the blind shall see."
A reading from the Book of Isaiah
17 Surely, in a very little while,
Lebanon shall be changed into an orchard,
and the orchard be considered a forest!
18 On that day the deaf shall hear
the words of a scroll;
And out of gloom and darkness,
the eyes of the blind shall see.
19 The lowly shall again find joy in the Lord,
the poorest rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.
20 For the tyrant shall be no more,
the scoffer shall cease to be;
All who are ready for evil shall be cut off,
21 those who condemn with a mere word,
Who ensnare the defender at the gate,
and leave the just with an empty claim.
22 Therefore thus says the Lord,
the God of the house of Jacob,
who redeemed Abraham:[b]
No longer shall Jacob be ashamed,
no longer shall his face grow pale.
23 For when his children see
the work of my hands in his midst,
They shall sanctify my name;
they shall sanctify the Holy One of Jacob,
be in awe of the God of Israel.
24 Those who err in spirit shall acquire understanding,
those who find fault shall receive instruction.
GOSPEL OF THE DAY - Mt 9:27-31
"Let it be done for you according to your faith."
✠From the Gospel according to Matthew
27 And as Jesus passed on from there, two blind men followed [him], crying out, “Son of David,[a] have pity on us!” 28 When he entered the house, the blind men approached him and Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I can do this?” “Yes, Lord,” they said to him. 29 Then he touched their eyes and said, “Let it be done for you according to your faith.” 30 And their eyes were opened. Jesus warned them sternly, “See that no one knows about this.” 31 But they went out and spread word of him through all that land.

FRIDAY OF THE FIRST WEEK OF ADVENT (Mt 9:27-31)
THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE
Dear people of God,
In today’s Word of God, God speaks about the faith of the blind who cannot see the light.
God reveals that those who are walking in darkness, who cannot see the light, who don’t know how to walk the path that they can not see ahead of them, then they should run to God, for only He is the light, the One who possesses full strength and power to dispel darkness out of humanity, to heal humanity from blindness and darkness.
God makes known to humanity that those who believe in Jesus should run to Him. He will heal, grant grace, and enlighten them to see everything, but that person must have absolute faith in God's love and absolute faith in Him as the only One who possesses power and strength. Besides Him, there is no deity as great as God.
Today, God calls everyone to:
Run to God, praying for Him to have mercy on your soul, which is darkened, defiled, and polluted by enveloping sin.
Run to Him to ask Him to cleanse the darkness and ignorance in your soul and ask Him to wash away your sins so that you may receive eternal life.
Through the image of the two blind men in the Gospel, God shows that how one believes in God determines the grace He will grant according to that faith.
The two blind men had absolute faith in God, believing that He had the strength and power to heal illness; so the two blind men followed Jesus all the way to the house, to plead for His mercy, asking Him to heal them: “O Son of David, have mercy on us.”
And it was precisely through their faith that God healed them from their blindness.
Today’s Word of God, God calls upon all humanity to run to Him; pray that He may have mercy on you, ask Him to open the eyes of your soul so that you may recognize the light of God’s Word; so that from there you may walk the path of light, faith and truth, the path of light of eternal life; so that through this, you will live and accomplish the things the Most High calls you to, which is to live according to the path of love, the path of forgiveness, the path of sacrifice and dedication of your life to God, who is the Way, the Truth, snd the Life.
He who created, redeemed, and now sanctifies humanity in His great plan under the activity of the Holy Spirit in this world.
Thanks be to God. Amen.
