“What comes out of the man, that is what defiles him.” (Mk 7:20)

FIRST READING - 1 Kgs 10:1-10

"The queen of Sheba witnessed Solomon’s great wisdom."

A reading from the First Book of Kings

[a] The queen of Sheba,[b] having heard a report of Solomon’s fame, came to test him with subtle questions. She arrived in Jerusalem with a very numerous retinue, and with camels bearing spices, a large amount of gold, and precious stones. She came to Solomon and spoke to him about everything that she had on her mind. King Solomon explained everything she asked about, and there was nothing so obscure that the king could not explain it to her. When the queen of Sheba witnessed Solomon’s great wisdom, the house he had built, the food at his table, the seating of his ministers, the attendance and dress of his waiters, his servers, and the burnt offerings he offered in the house of the Lord, it took her breath away. “The report I heard in my country about your deeds and your wisdom is true,” she told the king. “I did not believe the report until I came and saw with my own eyes that not even the half had been told me. Your wisdom and prosperity surpass the report I heard. Happy are your servants, happy these ministers of yours, who stand before you always and listen to your wisdom. Blessed be the Lord, your God, who has been pleased to place you on the throne of Israel. In his enduring love for Israel, the Lord has made you king to carry out judgment and justice.” 10 Then she gave the king one hundred and twenty gold talents, a very large quantity of spices, and precious stones. Never again did anyone bring such an abundance of spices as the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.

GOSPEL OF THE DAY - Mk 7:14-23

"What comes out of a person, that is what defiles."

From the Gospel according to Mark

14 He summoned the crowd again and said to them, “Hear me, all of you, and understand. 15 Nothing that enters one from outside can defile that person; but the things that come out from within are what defile.” [16 ][a]

17 [b]When he got home away from the crowd his disciples questioned him about the parable. 18 He said to them, “Are even you likewise without understanding? Do you not realize that everything that goes into a person from outside cannot defile, 19 [c]since it enters not the heart but the stomach and passes out into the latrine?” (Thus he declared all foods clean.) 20 “But what comes out of a person, that is what defiles. 21 From within people, from their hearts, come evil thoughts, unchastity, theft, murder, 22 adultery, greed, malice, deceit, licentiousness, envy, blasphemy, arrogance, folly. 23 All these evils come from within and they defile.”

5th WEDNESDAY IN ORDINARY TIME - Gospel (Mark 7:14-23)

THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE

Dear people of God,

Continuing from yesterday's Gospel, today, God teaches humanity what is pure and what is defiled.

According to God, the food that enters a person's stomach is not defiled, for it will be expelled.

As for what is defiled comes from within the human mind and heart, manifesting as evil thoughts and deeds, such as fornication, theft, murder, adultery, malice, deceit, envy, and arrogance.

Today, God teaches humanity how to cleanse these things from within our hearts and minds so that we may be pure and draw close to God.

From the very beginning, God created humanity in His image, and everything was good and pure in His sight.

Yet, original sin defiled humanity.

Because of God's love and mercy, He forgives all original sins through the Sacrament of Baptism, and humanity was made pure. But as humans grow up in an environment and a society full of Satan's temptations, we disobey God's word, follow Satan's incitement, and commit sin.

On this earth, only Blessed Mary is without sin in the sight of God, for she was granted the divine privilege of the Immaculate Conception; as for humankind, no one is without sin.

God teaches humanity that to be cleansed of these sins, we should go to confession, fast, pray unceasingly to God, attend Holy Mass and Eucharistic Adoration, and live in constant intimate union with God, so that His Word and His presence are always in our minds.

In this way, He will help us be cleansed of sin and turn away from lustful habits, arrogance, and unrighteous thoughts.

In this age, God desires to teach humanity that those defilements and sins are the result of the devil's temptations within us. Because human beings are very weak, some overcome temptation, while others cannot. Therefore, God desires that everyone have an intimate relationship with Him and with one another, and there is a great need for the prayers of the community and of those chosen by God.

God reveals that temptation and demonic possession in humans have existed since ancient times, but over time, they have become obscured and forgotten, so people do not recognize them.

Today, God shows us that in order to cast out people's evil thoughts and the demons that tempt us toward arrogance, lust, division, discord, and envy toward one another, everyone should rely on God and those chosen by Him.

In this age, God has chosen certain individuals to enter His new plan, the Holy Spirit’s Plan of Sanctification, the Plan of the House of God the Father in Bao Loc, Vietnam. He has revealed to them the world of demons, with various types: demons of lust, demons of pride, demons of envy, demons of division, and so on.

He shows them what they must do to overcome these demons within themselves and in those who need their intercession.

Thanks be to God. Amen
