FIRST READING - 1 Kgs 8:1-7, 9-13
"The priests brought the ark of the covenant of the Lord to its place, the inner sanctuary of the house. The Lord intends to dwell in the dark cloud."
A reading from the First Book of Kings
[a] 1 Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the princes in the ancestral houses of the Israelites. They came to King Solomon in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the Lord’s covenant from the city of David (which is Zion). 2 All the people of Israel assembled before King Solomon during the festival in the month of Ethanim (the seventh month).[b] 3 When all the elders of Israel had arrived, the priests took up the ark; 4 and they brought up the ark of the Lord and the tent of meeting with all the sacred vessels that were in the tent. The priests and Levites brought them up. 5 King Solomon and the entire community of Israel, gathered for the occasion before the ark, sacrificed sheep and oxen too many to number or count. 6 [c]The priests brought the ark of the covenant of the Lord to its place, the inner sanctuary of the house, the holy of holies, beneath the wings of the cherubim. 7 The cherubim had their wings spread out over the place of the ark, sheltering the ark and its poles from above.
9 There was nothing in the ark but the two stone tablets which Moses had put there at Horeb, when the Lord made a covenant with the Israelites after they went forth from the land of Egypt. 10 When the priests left the holy place, the cloud filled the house of the Lord 11 so that the priests could no longer minister because of the cloud, since the glory of the Lord had filled the house of the Lord. 12 [a]Then Solomon said,
“The Lord intends to dwell in the dark cloud;13
I have indeed built you a princely house,
the base for your enthronement forever.”
GOSPEL OF THE DAY - Mk 6:53-56
"As many as touched it were healed."
✠From the Gospel according to Mark
53 After making the crossing, they came to land at Gennesaret and tied up there. 54 As they were leaving the boat, people immediately recognized him. 55 They scurried about the surrounding country and began to bring in the sick on mats to wherever they heard he was. 56 Whatever villages or towns or countryside he entered, they laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged him that they might touch only the tassel on his cloak; and as many as touched it were healed.

5th MONDAY IN ORDINARY TIME - Gospel (Mark 6:53-56)
THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE
Dear people of God,
In today's Word of God, God the Father invites humanity. When we run to Him, we must ask for His divine mercy for the forgiveness of our sins.
God the Father, please grant me more strength, so that I may have the courage to abandon Satan’s sinful path and return to You.
Ask Him to heal our souls, for the soul is what is truly precious for humanity to be healed.
But in today's world, God the Father sees only people come asking for the healing of the body, but not the healing of the soul. The body is what will perish, while the soul is truly the immortal life.
God the Father wants people to know that we must cherish and respect our souls and learn to respect eternal life for ourselves. For that is precisely the wisdom that humanity needs to attain. God the Father wants people to be vigilant against the lulling temptations of Satan, for they are hypocrites, they are those who do not exist eternally, they are the wicked ones who seek every way to steal human souls.
Satan is very cunning; they seek every means to deceive people by only healing the body, so that the soul always lives in sin without knowing conversion and repentance.
In today's Word of God, God the Father reveals to all humanity that when Jesus Christ was present right here on earth, people only ran to Him for the healing of their physical sickness and infirmities, but did not ask Him to heal both their souls and bodies, nor did they ask Him to grant more strength, the grace of faith, grace of conversion, nor the grace of healing of both soul and body.
God the Father wishes to remind us today: to have a holy fear of Him and wisely run to Him, asking for an increase in faith and the grace of conversion and healing for both soul and body. And firmly resolve to reject the temptations of Satan, renounce the path of sin, and return to be reconciled with God the Father.
Once we are reconciled with God the Father, He will bestow every blessing upon both our souls and bodies, and He will bring us eternal happiness in the Kingdom of Heaven. That is the wisdom to which God the Father calls upon us to remain vigilant and to attain.
Thanks be to God. Amen
