FIRST READING - Dan 7:2-14
"I saw coming with the clouds of heaven, one like a son of man."
A reading from the Book of Daniel
2 In the vision I saw during the night, suddenly the four winds of heaven stirred up the great sea,[a] 3 from which emerged four immense beasts, each different from the others. 4 The first was like a lion, but with eagle’s wings.[b] While I watched, the wings were plucked; it was raised from the ground to stand on two feet like a human being, and given a human mind. 5 The second beast was like a bear;[c] it was raised up on one side, and among the teeth in its mouth were three tusks. It was given the order, “Arise, devour much flesh.” 6 After this I looked and saw another beast, like a leopard;[d] on its back were four wings like those of a bird, and it had four heads. To this beast dominion was given. 7 [e]After this, in the visions of the night I saw a fourth beast, terrifying, horrible, and of extraordinary strength; it had great iron teeth with which it devoured and crushed, and it trampled with its feet what was left. It differed from the beasts that preceded it. It had ten horns. 8 I was considering the ten horns it had, when suddenly another, a little horn, sprang out of their midst, and three of the previous horns were torn away to make room for it. This horn had eyes like human eyes, and a mouth that spoke arrogantly. 9 [f]As I watched,
Thrones were set up
and the Ancient of Days took his throne.
His clothing was white as snow,
the hair on his head like pure wool;
His throne was flames of fire,
with wheels of burning fire.
10 A river of fire surged forth,
flowing from where he sat;
Thousands upon thousands were ministering to him,
and myriads upon myriads stood before him.
The court was convened, and the books were opened. 11 I watched, then, from the first of the arrogant words which the horn spoke, until the beast was slain and its body destroyed and thrown into the burning fire. 12 As for the other beasts, their dominion was taken away, but they were granted a prolongation of life for a time and a season. 13 As the visions during the night continued, I saw coming with the clouds of heaven
One like a son of man.
[g]When he reached the Ancient of Days
and was presented before him,
14 He received dominion, splendor, and kingship;
all nations, peoples and tongues will serve him.
His dominion is an everlasting dominion
that shall not pass away,
his kingship, one that shall not be destroyed.

"When you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near."

29 He taught them a lesson. “Consider the fig tree and all the other trees. 30 When their buds burst open, you see for yourselves and know that summer is now near; 31 in the same way, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near. 32 Amen, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place. 33 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE
Dear people of God,
The Word of God in today’s Gospel, God wants all humanity to know that the Word of God is eternal, His Word will never pass away, and His Word will bring life to humanity.
Therefore, the Word of God must be illuminated, proclaimed, taught to people, and must be put into practice in life.
God calls everyone to be concerned with accumulating spiritual wealth to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
As humans look at external signs to judge the situation, God invites everyone to look into our own hearts to examine whether we have done what God has commanded.
If we have not yet done so, we must do our best to obey and act in accordance with God’s teachings.
If someone only seeks the external signs of the world, without looking within our hearts to examine what we have done before God, then God has a warning for us: be conscious of how we live while still in this world!
The Word of God has been given, and that Word will always be fulfilled: God will exclude those who do not live and do not act according to the Word God commanded; He will exclude those people from His loving arms.
Therefore, today's Word of God calls everyone to be concerned about accumulating spiritual wealth to buy entry into the Kingdom of Heaven; that is, to examine our own actions; if anyone has not acted accordingly, has not pleased God’s holy will, then resolve to repent, renounce sin, and return to God—these are the signs by which God calls humanity.
Let us walk the path of light of the Word of God, for only the light of the Word of God will illuminate, guide, and lead humanity to the eternal happiness of the Kingdom of Heaven hereafter.
