FIRST READING - Rm 1:1-7
"Through him we have received the grace of apostleship, to bring about the obedience of faith, for the sake of his name, among all the Gentiles."
A reading from the Letter of St. Paul to the Romans
1 Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus,[b] called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God, 2 which he promised previously through his prophets in the holy scriptures, 3 [c]the gospel about his Son, descended from David according to the flesh, 4 but established as Son of God in power according to the spirit of holiness through resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord. 5 [d]Through him we have received the grace of apostleship, to bring about the obedience of faith, for the sake of his name, among all the Gentiles, 6 among whom are you also, who are called to belong to Jesus Christ; 7 to all the beloved of God in Rome, called to be holy.[e] Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
GOSPEL OF THE DAY - Lk 11:29-32
"This generation is an evil generation; it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it, except the sign of Jonah."
✠From the Gospel according to Luke
29 While still more people gathered in the crowd, he said to them, “This generation is an evil generation; it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it, except the sign of Jonah. 30 Just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so will the Son of Man be to this generation. 31 At the judgment the queen of the south will rise with the men of this generation and she will condemn them, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and there is something greater than Solomon here. 32 At the judgment the men of Nineveh will arise with this generation and condemn it, because at the preaching of Jonah they repented, and there is something greater than Jonah here.

28TH MONDAY IN ORDINARY TIME - Gospel (Luke 11:29-32)
THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE
Dear people of God,
Today's Word of God calls on everyone to repent of all their sins against God and others; to listen to and practice the word that God imparts.
The word of God imparted to humanity in today's world and in former times is this: only those who know how to listen to and practice God's teachings will attain eternal life and happiness in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Just as in days of old, the people of Nineveh lived in the mire of sin, but they listened to the word of the prophet Jonah, whom God sent. He called on everyone to repent, and because they listened and repented, they were healed by God, God cast out evil, and protected them from the world's calamities.
Today's Word of God also calls on everyone to always listen to God's teachings in daily life, which is the word of Jesus Christ, who came into the world to accompany and be with humanity.
There is no greater happiness than the Son of God Himself humbling Himself to become human, being like all other humans, and allowing humanity to partake in God's life and hear His teachings directly.
God calls on everyone to wisely listen to the words of Jesus Christ, who came into the world as a human, for His word has the power to cast out Satan and bring eternal life to humanity.
In days of old, the prophet Jonah brought God's word to warn and call everyone to repent, and they believed and lived according to God's teachings.
Furthermore, humanity is truly blessed in today's world because we are taught directly by the word of Jesus Christ.
Today, He calls on everyone to:
Always listen to God's teachings and live according to His call.
Repent, abandon the path of sin, and return to God; do not live in passion and sin, do not live in hatred and jealousy.
Return and reconcile with God to have eternal life in His Father's Kingdom.
Thanks be to God. Amen.
