FIRST READING - Bar 4:5-12, 27-29
"For the one who has brought disaster upon you will bring you eternal joy.”
A reading from the Book of Baruch
5 Take courage, my people! Remember, O Israel,6 You were sold to the nations not for destruction; It was because you angered God that you were handed over to your foes.7 For you provoked your Maker with sacrifices to demons and not to God;8 You forgot the eternal God who nourished you, and you grieved Jerusalem who nurtured you.9 She indeed saw coming upon you the wrath of God; and she said:
“Hear, you neighbors of Zion! God has brought great mourning upon me,10 For I have seen the captivity that the Eternal One has brought upon my sons and daughters. 11 With joy I nurtured them; but with mourning and lament I sent them away.12 Let no one gloat over me, a widow, bereft of many; For the sins of my children I am left desolate, because they turned from the law of God. 27 Take courage, my children; call out to God! The one who brought this upon you will remember you. 28 As your hearts have been disposed to stray from God, so turn now ten times the more to seek him; 29 For the one who has brought disaster upon you will, in saving you, bring you eternal joy.”
GOSPEL OF THE DAY - Lk 10:17-24
"Rejoice because your names are written in heaven."
✠From the Gospel according to Luke
17 The seventy[-two] returned rejoicing, and said, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us because of your name.” 18 Jesus said, “I have observed Satan fall like lightning[a] from the sky. 19 Behold, I have given you the power ‘to tread upon serpents’ and scorpions and upon the full force of the enemy and nothing will harm you. 20 Nevertheless, do not rejoice because the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”
21 At that very moment he rejoiced [in] the holy Spirit and said, “I give you praise, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike.[b] Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will. 22 All things have been handed over to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him.”
23 Turning to the disciples in private he said, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see. 24 For I say to you, many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, but did not see it, and to hear what you hear, but did not hear it.”

26TH SATURDAY IN ORDINARY TIME - Gospel (Luke 10:17-24)
THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE
Dear People of God,
In today's Word of God, God the Father tells His disciples that: the love God has for mankind is above all the love that God the Father places in mankind; people must live in a way that pleases God the Father, to repay His love.
That is obedience to follow the Word that God the Father teaches, then all the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven, the Spirit of the Holy Spirit will act and reveal the immeasurably great things of God the Father.
What God the Father promises, He will make a reality for entry into the Kingdom of Heaven in the future.
But alongside that, humanity needs to awaken to one thing: be vigilant against the very subtle temptations of Satan, for they will not allow disciples to be close to God to listen to and practice His teachings. That is, through daily life, people must unite more intimately with God, stay with Him so that He may strengthen them, to fight against the very strong temptations of Satan regarding worldly desires and passions.
Humanity needs to give thanks to God! Because of love, He sent His Only Son into the world as a human, to accompany and be with humanity, to cast out Satan.
All that He will grant as strength for humanity is the Spirit, is love. Only the Spirit and love of God can overcome the temptations of Satan.
Today's Word of God teaches humanity that: even when Jesus is God, He always closely united with God the Father, constantly praying for His apostles, for His children; therefore, humanity needs to follow that example and unite intimately with God the Father at all times and in all places, living in a spirit of love, giving thanks to God, only then can death be overcome.
An absolute shining example of Jesus' life of intimate union with God the Father, humanity must follow this example to find happiness in the Kingdom of Heaven with God.
In today's Word of God, once again God reminds humanity that: they must be alert to the temptations of Satan, because their temptations will be very strong and will take advantage of human weaknesses when not vigilant, so that they can steal souls away from the love of God the Father.
In this new era, God the Father uses people in God the Father's work so that, through God's own strength and power, Satan may be cast out, and their temptations resisted by living in intimate union with God the Father, by avoiding occasions of sin, by resisting their temptations, by obeying His holy will and teachings, thus overcoming the evils and sins that Satan brings.
What God the Father wants to teach humanity in today's world is: trust in God's work in this new era, run to Him asking Him to grant more strength, more power to resist Satan's temptations, to cast out the opposing Satanic demons, hoping to steal one's soul.
Through a life of love, through a life of obedience and reverence for God, God the Father will be pleased, and He will bestow the reward of the Kingdom of Heaven in the future.
Thanks be to God. Amen.
