26TH FRIDAY IN ORDINARY TIME - Gospel (Luke 10:13-16) - THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE
- NHA CHUA CHA
- Oct 3

FIRST READING - Bar 1:15-22
"We have sinned in the Lord’s sight and disobeyed him."
A reading from the Book of Baruch
15 [a]“To the Lord our God belongs justice; to us, people of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem, to be shamefaced, as on this day— 16 to us, our kings, rulers, priests, and prophets, and our ancestors. 17 We have sinned in the Lord’s sight 18 and disobeyed him. We have not listened to the voice of the Lord, our God, so as to follow the precepts the Lord set before us. 19 From the day the Lord led our ancestors out of the land of Egypt until the present day, we have been disobedient to the Lord, our God, and neglected to listen to his voice. 20 Even today evils cling to us, the curse the Lord pronounced to Moses, his servant, at the time he led our ancestors out of the land of Egypt to give us a land flowing with milk and honey. 21 For we did not listen to the voice of the Lord, our God, in all the words of the prophets he sent us, 22 but each of us has followed the inclinations of our wicked hearts, served other gods, and done evil in the sight of the Lord, our God.
GOSPEL OF THE DAY - Lk 10:13-16
"Whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me."
✠From the Gospel according to Luke
13 “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty deeds done in your midst had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would long ago have repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. 14 But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment than for you. 15 [a]And as for you, Capernaum, ‘Will you be exalted to heaven? You will go down to the netherworld.’ 16 Whoever listens to you listens to me. Whoever rejects you rejects me. And whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me.”

26TH FRIDAY IN ORDINARY TIME - Gospel (Luke 10:13-16)
THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE
Dear People of God,
Today's Word of God, God instructs everyone: those who have heard God's teachings and live according to His word, must faithfully follow Him until the end.
Those who have been taught by God's word, have seen the works of God, and have witnessed His miracles should practice according to God's call.
Do not, by failing to act, fall into misery, as Jesus said: “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida!” That is God's warning to humanity when people do not act in accordance with God's calling.
Today's Word of God calls everyone: to faithfully follow God's path to inherit eternal life in His Kingdom. If anyone has heard and received God's word, has recognized the miracles He has performed, has seen God's power and strength, but does not live and act according to God's calling, then that person will be 'woeful’ as Jesus said in today's Gospel.
Furthermore, the Word of God teaches: whoever lives and practices what God commands and calls for, He will bestow graces upon that person according to His will.
And from the graces received, that person must know how to share, know how to give, know how to go forth and preach the Good News of the Kingdom of Heaven to those around them, so that they too may partake in the light of eternal life in God's Kingdom.
Today, God also tells everyone: to listen to the calls of His disciples, to listen to the calls of those who have lived and practiced God's teachings. Everyone must share and bestow the graces received from God upon others.
And everyone must also know how to open their hearts to receive and listen to God's word taught through others, when these people live and act according to God's instructions and calling, for Jesus said: “Whoever listens to you listens to me.”
Today, God calls everyone to:
Listen to and accept the calling of those who are living and practicing according to God's commands.
Must know how to share and bestow the graces received from God upon others.
Must always know how to unite with one another, together sharing, listening to, and practicing according to God's teachings.
Thanks be to God. Amen.
