FIRST READING - Ezr 9:5-9
"For slaves we are, but in our slavery our God has not abandoned us."
A reading from the Book of Ezra
5 Then, at the time of the evening sacrifice, I rose in my wretchedness, and with cloak and mantle torn I fell on my knees, stretching out my hands to the Lord, my God.
6 [a]I said: “My God, I am too ashamed and humiliated to raise my face to you, my God, for our wicked deeds are heaped up above our heads and our guilt reaches up to heaven. 7 From the time of our ancestors even to this day our guilt has been great, and for our wicked deeds we have been delivered, we and our kings and our priests, into the hands of the kings of foreign lands, to the sword, to captivity, to pillage, and to disgrace, as is the case today.
8 “And now, only a short time ago, mercy came to us from the Lord, our God, who left us a remnant and gave us a stake in his holy place; thus our God has brightened our eyes and given us relief in our slavery. 9 For slaves we are, but in our slavery our God has not abandoned us; rather, he has turned the good will of the kings of Persia toward us. Thus he has given us new life to raise again the house of our God and restore its ruins, and has granted us a protective wall in Judah and Jerusalem.
GOSPEL OF THE DAY - Lk 9:1-6
"He sent them to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick."
✠From the Gospel according to Luke
The Mission of the Twelve.[a] 1 He summoned the Twelve and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, 2 and he sent them to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal [the sick]. 3 He said to them, “Take nothing for the journey,[b] neither walking stick, nor sack, nor food, nor money, and let no one take a second tunic. 4 Whatever house you enter, stay there and leave from there. 5 And as for those who do not welcome you, when you leave that town, shake the dust from your feet[c] in testimony against them.” 6 Then they set out and went from village to village proclaiming the good news and curing diseases everywhere.

25TH WEDNESDAY IN ORDINARY TIME - Gospel (Luke 9:1-6)
THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE
Dear People of God,
The Word of God today, God tells all of humanity that all those who trust in the power of the Most High God will be granted the strength by Him to fight against Satan. He also reminds the children of mankind that all the plans of God the Father, from the beginning until now, have been recorded in the Sacred Scripture; therefore, everyone should carry them out and follow exactly what God the Father has taught; do not deviate from God the Father's path anymore.
God the Father will not be pleased with all those who do not follow exactly according to the ways that He has commanded. God reminds His children that when Jesus Christ ascended into heaven, He sent the Holy Spirit to accompany them and to continue the mission of Jesus Christ, which is the salvation of mankind. In all the great works of the Most High God the Father, there is always the presence of the Holy Trinity at work within humanity.
For all those who know how to run to Jesus Christ and are placed by Him in God the Father’s plan of salvation: which includes casting out demons, healing the sick and sinners, trust that He is always with us. But on the condition that the person must be faithful to God the Father and practice exactly what He teaches. That is to put love above all things, to renounce all things that belong to the world. Only then will the power of the Holy Trinity truly dwell within that person and enable them to carry out the mission entrusted by God.
As in the past, Jesus Christ called all who believe to come to Him, so that He could lay hands upon them to cast out demons, healing of the sick, and send them forth to baptize the nations, calling people to repentance and to return to God the Father.
And He calls His children to place their complete trust in God the Father, for He is Lord of all creatures and all things on this earth. When He bestows grace and sends forth, He will protect both soul and body; therefore, do not worry, and do not be afraid.
Today, God the Father also calls all His children—those whom He has placed in His plan of salvation in this new era, under the working of the Holy Spirit to place their complete trust in Him and have absolute faith in His supreme power. For He has absolute authority over all things in this world. No one possesses the power and selfless love like God the Father.
Therefore, His children are to remain faithful and obedient to the holy will of God the Father in all places and at all times, and to fulfill the duty that God the Father entrusted to them, which is to go forth, to glorify God the Father, and to bring souls back to Him. When that duty and mission are fulfilled, He will reward them with happiness in the Kingdom of Heaven.
God the Father also instructs His prophets in this new era to live according to all that He teaches: to place love above all things. Just as God the Father has loved and redeemed us, we must also love, sacrifice, and selflessly help our brothers and sisters in the same way.
Thanks be to God. Amen.
