READING OF THE DAY

A reading from the Acts of the Apostles

Acts 13:26-33

When Paul came to Antioch in Pisidia, he said in the synagogue:

“My brothers, children of the family of Abraham,

and those others among you who are God-fearing,

to us this word of salvation has been sent.

The inhabitants of Jerusalem and their leaders failed to recognize him,

and by condemning him they fulfilled the oracles of the prophets

that are read sabbath after sabbath.

For even though they found no grounds for a death sentence,

they asked Pilate to have him put to death,

and when they had accomplished all that was written about him,

they took him down from the tree and placed him in a tomb.

But God raised him from the dead,

and for many days he appeared to those

who had come up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem.

These are now his witnesses before the people.

We ourselves are proclaiming this good news to you

that what God promised our fathers

he has brought to fulfillment for us, their children, by raising up Jesus,

as it is written in the second psalm,

You are my Son; this day I have begotten you.”

From the Gospel according to John

Jn 14:1-6

Jesus said to his disciples:

“Do not let your hearts be troubled.

You have faith in God; have faith also in me.

In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places.

If there were not,

would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?

And if I go and prepare a place for you,

I will come back again and take you to myself,

so that where I am you also may be.

Where I am going you know the way.”

Thomas said to him,

“Master, we do not know where you are going;

how can we know the way?”

Jesus said to him, “I am the way and the truth and the life.

No one comes to the Father except through me.”

THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE

Dear People of God,

In God's Word today, God introduces God the Father for all humanity to see. In the image of Jesus, the only Son of God the Father, coming to earth as a human, it is revealed that God the Father loves all humanity infinitely, a God that we must all respect, worship, and know. Run to pray and thank Him. Because of love, He sent His only Son to earth as a human, to sacrifice and die to atone for the sins of mankind. And in a way, He also let people know that obedience to God the Father's will is paramount. Everything must turn to God the Father. Even the only Son, Jesus Christ, must obey the will of God the Father in all places and at all times. His obedience was absolute when He obeyed the command absolutely: Whatever God the Father said, whatever God the Father taught, He did exactly that, that is exactly what God the Father wanted to teach. Because it was the words of Jesus Christ that said: the word of God the Father is the Word that brings eternal life to man.

This is what God the Father teaches humans: obedience to God the Father's will in every place and at all times. Even the only Son of God who does not do anything according to His own will, much less man, who is a lowly creature before God the Father. God the Father invites people to be humble, humble themselves to obey God the Father's teachings through Jesus Christ. Because it is His teachings that will bring eternal life to people.

People should stop disobeying the will of God the Father and should not submit to Satan's temptations but should return to the teachings of Jesus Christ: know how to respect and worship the One God the Father. The only one. Follow the way and instructions of God the Father: love, fear God the Father, and obey God the Father's will absolutely. Love God the Father above all things and love our fellow human beings as ourselves. This is the most important commandment that God the Father invites people to follow.

In addition, God the Father invites people to believe that God the Father is the only one who created heaven and earth, all living things. God the Father is the only one who created human beings. There is only one God the Father who loves us the most. Besides Him, there is no greater love than God the Father has for His people. Therefore, people must know how to be wise and submit, fear God the Father, and do everything according to what God the Father instructs, in order to enjoy eternal happiness in the Kingdom of Heaven.
