"The one who comes from above is above all. The one who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of earthly things" (Jn 3:31)
READING OF THE DAY
A reading from the Acts of the Apostles
Acts 5:27-33
When the court officers had brought the Apostles in
and made them stand before the Sanhedrin,
the high priest questioned them,
“We gave you strict orders did we not,
to stop teaching in that name.
Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching
and want to bring this man’s blood upon us.”
But Peter and the Apostles said in reply,
“We must obey God rather than men.
The God of our ancestors raised Jesus,
though you had him killed by hanging him on a tree.
God exalted him at his right hand as leader and savior
to grant Israel repentance and forgiveness of sins.
We are witnesses of these things,
as is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey him.”
When they heard this,
they became infuriated and wanted to put them to death.
GOSPEL OF THE DAY
From the Gospel according to John
Jn 3:31-36
The one who comes from above is above all.
The one who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of earthly things.
But the one who comes from heaven is above all.
He testifies to what he has seen and heard,
but no one accepts his testimony.
Whoever does accept his testimony certifies that God is trustworthy.
For the one whom God sent speaks the words of God.
He does not ration his gift of the Spirit.
The Father loves the Son and has given everything over to him.
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life,
but whoever disobeys the Son will not see life,
but the wrath of God remains upon him.
THURSDAY OF THE SECOND WEEK OF EASTER- Memorial of Saint Stanislaus, Bishop, and Martyr- Jn 3:31-36
THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE
Dear People of God,
Today's Word of God lets everyone know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came to earth to become a human. He is the Only Son, sent by God the Father to earth to save humanity through His death and resurrection.
The words He teaches to people living on earth are words that come from God the Father Himself. He taught those words to humanity so that those who believe in the only Son will have eternal life. The words that Jesus taught were the words of truth, the words that bring eternal life, and the words of love. These words call everyone to believe in the love of God. Only He can bring life, save people, and free people from the captivity of Satan, from the slavery of sin. The testimonies of Jesus are true testimonies. This word of truth will last forever and never be lost.
The words of God have been engraved and are in the soul of each human being when created by God. Therefore, God calls all of His children to believe in the words of Jesus Christ. He is the Son of God who came to earth to become a human. And in the Plan of Salvation of Jesus Christ,
God the Father and the Holy Spirit are always with us. The Holy Trinity is One God, constantly working together. The Holy Trinity always loves humanity and calls all who believe in God of love:
- To Be courageous to bear witness to God.
- To Bring that testimony to light, preach God's word of truth to everyone so that everyone can receive the salvation that comes from God.
- Once we receive the truth from God, we must obey God above all things and practice according to that Truth.
Thanks be to God. Amen
