"I am going the way of all the earth. Be strong and be a man!"
A reading from the First Book of Kings
1 When the time of David’s death drew near, he gave these instructions to Solomon his son: 2 “I am going the way of all the earth. Be strong and be a man! 3 Keep the mandate of the Lord, your God, walking in his ways and keeping his statutes, commands, ordinances, and decrees as they are written in the law of Moses, that you may succeed in whatever you do, and wherever you turn, 4 and that the Lord may fulfill the word he spoke concerning me: If your sons so conduct themselves that they walk before me in faithfulness with their whole heart and soul, there shall never be wanting someone of your line on the throne of Israel.
10 David rested with his ancestors and was buried in the City of David. 11 David was king over Israel for forty years: he was king seven years in Hebron and thirty-three years in Jerusalem.
[a] 12 Then Solomon sat on the throne of David his father, and his kingship was established.
GOSPEL OF THE DAY - Mk 6:7-13
"He summoned the Twelve and began to send them out."
✠From the Gospel according to Mark
7 He summoned the Twelve[a] and began to send them out two by two and gave them authority over unclean spirits. 8 [b]He instructed them to take nothing for the journey but a walking stick—no food, no sack, no money in their belts. 9 They were, however, to wear sandals but not a second tunic. 10 [c]He said to them, “Wherever you enter a house, stay there until you leave from there. 11 Whatever place does not welcome you or listen to you, leave there and shake the dust off your feet in testimony against them.” 12 So they went off and preached repentance. 13 [d]They drove out many demons, and they anointed with oil many who were sick and cured them.

THURSDAY OF THE FOURTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME (Mark 6:7-13)
THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE
Dear people of God,
In today’s Word of God, God the Father desires to tell all who want to follow Jesus Christ to eliminate everything that belongs to greed, anger, and passion of this worldly life so that they can walk freely, lightly, and gracefully on the path of Jesus Christ.
God the Father wants to remind His prophets that when working for Him, they should clothe themselves in the person of Jesus Christ, embodying poverty, simplicity, freedom, purity, and obedience, to spread the love and mercy of God the Father to their brothers and sisters.
When they clothe themselves in the holiness of Jesus Christ, the grace, love, and power of God will reside in them.
Just as Jesus Christ reminded His disciples in the past that when preaching the Word of God, they should bring with them only the grace and power bestowed by God the Father and only what is necessary to serve God's work.
For He knows everything about every action in the life of each person.
God the Father wants to remind humanity that Satan is very powerful and sophisticated in tempting God's prophets to oppose His will and to lead people to follow Satan's temptations.
God the Father also reminds His children to fear and obey His will in all places and at all times. They should do exactly as God the Father instructs.
In today's Word of God, Jesus Christ, instructed the apostles in the past as well as today’s people that when going out to preach the Gospel, bring the word of God, the light, the love, and mercy of God the Father to your brothers and sisters.
Wherever you go, bless, bring peace, and share the grace that God has bestowed upon you with your brothers and sisters.
God the Father wants people to know how to support and help one another, to love and care for one another, and to share everything they have received from God the Father with their brothers and sisters.
God the Father calls His prophets to give away everything that God Himself has given them, for they received it freely, so they should also give it away freely.
Return to God everything that belongs to God the Father through your brothers and sisters.
God the Father wants those who walk in His grace, love, and mercy to belong entirely to God the Father in both soul and body, to completely belong to Him in all places and at all times, so that the power of God the Father can work within them.
Just as Jesus Christ once bestowed the power of grace to heal the sick and infirm and the power to cast out Satan.
Today, God the Father also calls all His children to come to Him, so that He may give them strength to cast out Satan, and so that the Holy Spirit may work within them.
But this is on the condition that these prophets, or those who follow Jesus Christ must completely submit to the will of Jesus Christ in all places and at all times, and must completely fear Him, and then Satan will be defeated.
Thanks be to God. Amen.
