"Today this scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing." (Lk 4:21)

FIRST READING - 1 John 4:19–5:4

A reading from the Letter of John

Beloved, we love God because

he first loved us.

If anyone says, “I love God,”

but hates his brother, he is a liar;

for whoever does not love a brother whom he has seen

cannot love God whom he has not seen.

This is the commandment we have from him:

Whoever loves God must also love his brother.

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is begotten by God,

and everyone who loves the Father

loves also the one begotten by him.

In this way we know that we love the children of God

when we love God and obey his commandments.

For the love of God is this,

that we keep his commandments.

And his commandments are not burdensome,

for whoever is begotten by God conquers the world.

And the victory that conquers the world is our faith.

GOSPEL OF THE DAY - 4:14-22

From the Gospel according to Luke

Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit,

and news of him spread throughout the whole region.

He taught in their synagogues and was praised by all.

He came to Nazareth, where he had grown up,

and went according to his custom

into the synagogue on the sabbath day.

He stood up to read and was handed a scroll of the prophet Isaiah.

He unrolled the scroll and found the passage where it was written:

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,

because he has anointed me

to bring glad tidings to the poor.

He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives

and recovery of sight to the blind,

to let the oppressed go free,

and to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord.

Rolling up the scroll, he handed it back to the attendant and sat down,

and the eyes of all in the synagogue looked intently at him.

He said to them,

“Today this Scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing.”

And all spoke highly of him

and were amazed at the gracious words that came from his mouth.

THURSDAY AFTER THE EPIPHANY - Gospel (Lk 4:14-22a)

THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE

Dear People of God,

In the Word of God today, God proclaims that the Kingdom of God has come and is among all mankind. He proclaims that a supreme God has appeared and has fulfilled the words of the ancient prophets who proclaimed of Him, a Messiah who comes to save all mankind, freeing humankind from the captivity of Satan, and bringing eternal life to mankind.

And up to the present day, under the influence of the Holy Spirit, He continues to call all His children in this world to believe that the Word of Jesus Christ taught in the past is the truth.

He came to the world to bring salvation to mankind is the truth, and His teachings in the Bible are the truth, His calling to mankind to abandon all sins, abandon all evil deeds, abandon Satan's way of life to return to God, so that His light and Spirit will reign over our bodies and souls, and we will have eternal life.

The Word of God has been fulfilled from ancient times to the present. Those who believe in the power of God, and believe that the Word of Jesus Christ taught in the Bible is the truth, will be filled with God's grace, peace, and happiness that reigns over the body and soul of that person.

Today's Word of God calls on all mankind to have absolute faith in the power of God. He can do everything; there is nothing He cannot do. As a result, the prophecy of Jesus Christ has been fulfilled. Up to the present, God continues to call His children to ask for an increase in faith, conversion, and healing of the soul and body so that He Himself may come and sanctify our bodies and souls to escape the captivity of Satan.

And the Word of Jesus calls on everyone to repent and abandon the path of sin so He may come into our bodies and souls. God will free our bodies and souls from Satan's captivity and bring us to eternal happiness in the Kingdom of Heaven in the future.

All the teachings of Jesus Christ in the Bible have been fulfilled for those who know how to listen to the Word of God and put it into practice from the past up to the present. And now the continuation of the Word of God is preached to everyone in this world. We should listen to the Word of God and put it into practice. We must have absolute faith in the Word of Jesus Christ taught in the Bible is the truth.

Today, under the era of the influence of the Holy Spirit, He continues to give the Realistic Word to humanity to remind us of the Word of Jesus Christ taught in the Bible in the past. Whoever is wise should seek the Word of God, whoever is wise should run to the Realistic Word so that the Word itself will give us the strength to fight Satan and live according to God's will.

Thanks be to God. Amen.
