FIRST READING - 2 Sam 5:1-3
"They anointed David king over Israel."
A reading from the Second Book of Samuel
1 All the tribes of Israel came to David in Hebron, and they said: “Look! We are your bone and your flesh. 2 In days past, when Saul was still our king, you were the one who led Israel out in all its battles and brought it back. And the Lord said to you: You shall shepherd my people Israel; you shall be ruler over Israel.” 3 Then all the elders of Israel came to the king in Hebron, and at Hebron King David made a covenant with them in the presence of the Lord; and they anointed David king over Israel.
SECOND READING - Col 1:12-20
"He delivered us from the power of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son."
A reading from the Letter of St. Paul to the Colossians
12 [a]giving thanks to the Father, who has made you fit to share in the inheritance of the holy ones in light. 13 He delivered us from the power of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
the firstborn of all creation.
16 For in him[d] were created all things in heaven and on earth,
the visible and the invisible,
whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers;
all things were created through him and for him.
17 He is before all things,
and in him all things hold together.
18 He is the head of the body, the church.[e]
He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead,
that in all things he himself might be preeminent.
19 For in him all the fullness[f] was pleased to dwell,
20 and through him to reconcile all things for him,
making peace by the blood of his cross[g]
[through him], whether those on earth or those in heaven.
GOSPEL OF THE DAY - Lk 23:35-43
"Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom."
✠From the Gospel accoording to Luke
35 The people stood by and watched; the rulers, meanwhile, sneered at him and said, “He saved others, let him save himself if he is the chosen one, the Messiah of God.” 36 Even the soldiers jeered at him. As they approached to offer him wine 37 they called out, “If you are King of the Jews, save yourself.” 38 Above him there was an inscription that read, “This is the King of the Jews.”
39 [a]Now one of the criminals hanging there reviled Jesus, saying, “Are you not the Messiah? Save yourself and us.” 40 The other, however, rebuking him, said in reply, “Have you no fear of God, for you are subject to the same condemnation? 41 And indeed, we have been condemned justly, for the sentence we received corresponds to our crimes, but this man has done nothing criminal.” 42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” 43 He replied to him, “Amen, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”

THE SOLEMNITY OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST KING OF THE UNIVERSE - Gospel (Luke 23:35-43)
Dear People of God,
Today, the entire universe proclaims Jesus Christ as King of the Universe, King of Kings.
God wants to tell all humanity that in this world, there is only one sole King of the entire universe and humanity, and He is God.
God reveals to humanity that since the time of creation, God alone has been the only One, the Eternal One, the Self-Existent One, the One who rules the entire universe and all creation on this earth.
God is the King of all Angels, the King of every living creature, the King of all creation from the invisible to the visible, which is born and exists.
There is only one sole Being who is the King of the universe, the King of kings, above all powers and spiritual forces. God governs all humanity and all visible and invisible things.
There is only one sole Being who is the God of Love. This Loving One abandoned everything to redeem the very life of humanity, bringing eternal life to mankind through the death and resurrection of the Beloved Son.
The Beloved Son is the image of the invisible God, present in this world to love, and to bring eternal life to humanity.
Apart from this eternal King, no other king possesses love like Him. The entire universe is loved by God, cared for, protected and preserved by God, and is made to grow by God in all circumstances.
Furthermore, God is the master of life, who raises humanity from the dead to enjoy glory in His Kingdom.
The God of Love is the King of kings, Lord of lords. This entire universe rests in the loving, provident, and caring hands of God.
God calls all today’s humanity to run to the King of Love, who is the Lord of lords, the King of kings. Earthly kings are merely a part of God's creation, just a small instrument used by God to cooperate with Him in caring for the flock and governing the universe.
God wants to reveal to humanity that there is only one sole King, and He Himself is God the Father. God the Father has absolute authority over all creatures born on this earth.
God the Father has absolute authority even over the shining Angels. Fear God above all things; fear Him in all places and at all times; fear Him because He has absolute authority over all creation, absolute authority over all powers, in heaven and on earth.
Fear God and walk in His ways so that He may bring happy life to humanity.
Turn towards God the Father, for only in Him can we find a happy and peaceful life.
Because He Himself creates the soul and body of humanity, He has absolute authority over the human soul and body, and He has absolute authority to bring happy life to humanity.
Be faithful and walk the path of God, which is the path of love. Look up at the cross of the King of Love to follow and walk, for only the path of God's loving cross can conquer death and escape the captivity of Satan.
The Son of God Himself, who is the image of the invisible God, conquered death through His death and resurrection.
He conquered death through His very obedience to God the Father, and through His very sacrifice.
That is the invitation that God the King bestows upon all humanity: only in God's love, only in Him can humanity be warmed from the coldness and darkness of sin; only in Him is eternity, peace, happiness, and life. Besides Him, no other deity brings happiness and life to humanity... He is God the Father, the Lord of lords, the King of kings.
Thanks be to God. Amen.
