“He was in the world, and the world came to be through him, but the world did not know him.” (Jn 1:10)

FIRST READING - Is 52:7-10

First reading from the Book of Isaiah

How beautiful upon the mountains

are the feet of him who brings glad tidings,

announcing peace, bearing good news,

announcing salvation, and saying to Zion,

“Your God is King!”

Hark! Your sentinels raise a cry,

together they shout for joy,

for they see directly, before their eyes,

the LORD restoring Zion.

Break out together in song,

O ruins of Jerusalem!

For the LORD comforts his people,

he redeems Jerusalem.

The LORD has bared his holy arm

in the sight of all the nations;

all the ends of the earth will behold

the salvation of our God.

SECOND READING from the Letter to the Hebrews - Heb 1:1-6

Brothers and sisters:

In times past, God spoke in partial and various ways

to our ancestors through the prophets;

in these last days, he has spoken to us through the Son,

whom he made heir of all things

and through whom he created the universe,

who is the refulgence of his glory,

the very imprint of his being,

and who sustains all things by his mighty word.

When he had accomplished purification from sins,

he took his seat at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

as far superior to the angels

as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.

For to which of the angels did God ever say:

You are my son; this day I have begotten you?

Or again:

I will be a father to him, and he shall be a son to me?

And again, when he leads the firstborn into the world, he says:

Let all the angels of God worship him.

GOSPEL OF THE DAY - Jn 1:1-18

From the Gospel according to John

In the beginning was the Word,

and the Word was with God,

and the Word was God.

He was in the beginning with God.

All things came to be through him,

and without him nothing came to be.

What came to be through him was life,

and this life was the light of the human race;

the light shines in the darkness,

and the darkness has not overcome it.

A man named John was sent from God.

He came for testimony, to testify to the light,

so that all might believe through him.

He was not the light,

but came to testify to the light.

The true light, which enlightens everyone, was coming into the world.

He was in the world,

and the world came to be through him,

but the world did not know him.

He came to what was his own,

but his own people did not accept him.

But to those who did accept him

he gave power to become children of God,

to those who believe in his name,

who were born not by natural generation

nor by human choice nor by a man’s decision

but of God.

And the Word became flesh

and made his dwelling among us,

and we saw his glory,

the glory as of the Father’s only Son,

full of grace and truth.

John testified to him and cried out, saying,

“This was he of whom I said,

‘The one who is coming after me ranks ahead of me

because he existed before me.’”

From his fullness we have all received,

grace in place of grace,

because while the law was given through Moses,

grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

No one has ever seen God.

The only Son, God, who is at the Father’s side,

has revealed him.

THE NATIVITY OF THE LORD - MASS DURING THE DAY - Gospel (Jn 1:1-18)

THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE

Dear People of God,

In today's Word of God, God lets all humanity know that The Word is the true God and true man. Because of love, He left all the glory and honor of Heaven to come to Earth to take on the form of a human being like any other human; that is the Infant Jesus. He is a true God and become a true man. He always had two natures: the nature of God and the nature of humanity.

God reveals to humanity that The Word is the true God and true man from all eternity. He exists by Himself. It is through the Word that all things are created in the heavens above as well as on earth below, in the seas, and in the depths of the abyss. All things were created from one Word He spoke. God lets humanity know that it is through the Word that people have eternal life, have happiness in the Kingdom of Heaven. And it is also through the Word becoming light that light dispels darkness and destroys sin.

God calls all humanity to come and celebrate the Word who is true God and true man. This is the Infant Jesus, conceived in the womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary under the power of the Holy Spirit. Also by the power of the Holy Spirit, the Blessed Virgin Mary gave birth to a child while remaining a virgin.

To prove one thing, this is a God who came to earth, a God of love who dwells among humans, taking on a human form like everyone else. That is His glorious power because God is Love. In Him, there are no limits, no lies, and no suffering.

He is the only one who can bring light to lead humans to the place of eternal happiness in the Kingdom of Heaven in the future.

The Word is the light that has come into the world to be among and accompany humanity in all places and at all times. For more than two thousand years, the Word has become a living person, presently among us to accompany, protect, and guide us to live in love and happiness in His wonderful plan.

The Word has been made in the image of God the Father to dwell among mankind. There is no greater love than the love of the Word. It is the Word that gives life to mankind. It is the Word that brings happiness so that mankind can experience the love of the Father.

Until today, mankind has welcomed the Word into our hearts; that is through the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist, the Word is present in the true nature of God. God calls upon all mankind to come and celebrate the Glory of the Second Person of God incarnate on earth so that mankind can experience the love, peace, and happiness from the Source of Light that God bestows upon each person.

It is only from this Source of Light that can lead mankind to God the Father.

Therefore, God calls on humanity to stop wandering in darkness, to abandon the path of sin, and to return to God the Father; to reconcile with Him so that the love of the Word, who is the Prince of Peace, may remain in our hearts.

God the Father loves all humanity, loves all creatures He created, so He opens up to humanity the work of Sanctification of the Holy Spirit. Through that, He continues to bestow love, bestow the grace of Salvation to all humanity.

This work will continue to develop and grow as every day God opens up to humanity to see the light of Heaven spread throughout the world by angels, welcoming souls to the House of God the Father, to His heart, with a heart of repentance, abandoning the path of sin, abandoning all bad habits brought by the world, the devil and the flesh.

On this day of celebrating Christmas, God calls on all humanity to always live in a spirit of gratitude to God. Because of His love for humanity, He humbled Himself to become human, taking on human form to accompany and be with mankind, leading mankind to the path of love, the path of the mystery of the Holy Trinity, the mystery of God becoming human among us.

Thanks be to God. Amen.
