NEW YEAR'S EVE MASS - PRAYING FOR PEACE IN THE NEW YEAR - Gospel (Matthew 5:1-10)
Dear people of God,
"May the Lord let His face shine upon you, may the Lord have mercy on you, and grant peace to all humanity."
That is God’s divine will intended to teach all humanity: look toward God, the Most High, who bestows all His love and mercy upon mankind.
For this reason, the Son of God came down to earth and became human, to dwell among humanity; He taught mankind the way to enter the Kingdom of Heaven and to be with God the Father.
The words that He teaches are eternal words, words that bring happiness to humanity.
In particular, through the Charter of the Kingdom of Heaven, He teaches that path, because He desires what is good for humanity and desires for us to be happy in the Kingdom of Heaven with God the Father.
In this new year, God the Father teaches humanity to always live with love, forgiveness, and obedience, to listen to His teachings, and to desire what is good. God will bless and bestow His grace upon all those who come to invoke His holy name. He will always be with and accompany humanity until the end of time.
God manifests this image through the Eight Beatitudes; these are the paths that Jesus Christ taught humanity on how to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
When those who live with meekness, humility, in self-abasement, simplicity, littleness, and a clean of heart, God will look upon them with favor, bless them, and grant them His peace.
In a special way, God will reveal how beautiful and splendid His glory is when a soul lives in purity and chastity of heart in the presence of God the Father.
God the Father calls upon everyone:
- To walk on the path of righteousness and holiness that He daily calls humanity to follow.
- Abandon sinful passions, repent, and return to God the Father.
God the Father desires to bring peace and happiness to humanity; however, on the condition that humanity must collaborate with God by fulfilling the duties He has bestowed, which is living the law of love and forgiveness; that God Himself is the perfect model for humanity to follow on the path that Jesus walked.
Especially through the Sermon on the Mount regarding the Charter of the Kingdom of Heaven, God desires to call all of humanity, in this new year, to have a simple, pure, peaceful, and happy soul so that God the Father may come, accompany, and guide us in all places and at all times in this earthly life.
God does not desire His children to live in suffering, hatred, envy, selfishness, and division, as these things do not originate from God.
God desires His children in this new year to transform our lives and to reconcile with God the Father through the Beatitudes that God has taught today: to have a poor, meek, pure, and chaste soul, and especially yearn to become righteous and holy.
The righteousness and holiness mentioned here, which God refers to and calls us to, are: always knowing how to listen to and obey God’s holy will as He teaches us in life.
These things will bring happiness to humanity, bringing life to the Kingdom of Heaven.
When anyone is determined to live and fulfill what God teaches today, then the Kingdom of Heaven will dwell in us, and when God calls our souls out of this world, it will be truly happy! For He will bring our souls into His holy presence.
God also teaches everyone in daily life about the life of prayer: look up to God the Father, ask Him to look with favor, bless, have mercy, and grant peace to all humanity in this new year.
God desires that we look within our own interior lives: we need to unite ourselves more intimately with God the Father, so that He may grant us grace and strength to live and fulfill His teachings; that is, to live the law of love, the commandment that God places above all else: to love God above all things and to love our neighbors as ourselves.
God the Father also teaches everyone: if we desire a life of happiness and peace both here on earth and in the Kingdom of Heaven, we must first undergo a conversion of heart, we must renounce sinful passions and abandon all hatred, envy, selfishness, and division, then God will surely grant us happiness right here on earth.
In these first moments of transitioning into the first day of the new year, God desires all humanity:
- To look up to God the Father, sincerely repent and be reconciled to Him and to our brothers and sisters, so that He may bless and grant peace to each of us.
- Let us pray to God: “May You let Your face shine upon our sinful flock; may You forgive our sins; may You look with favor upon the people living in error, and in the mire of sin, that we may know how to return to You and be reconciled to You and to our brothers and sisters at this very moment.
For that is what pleases God the Father most.
God the Father is always joyful and happy when His children know how to build peace, know how to bring peace and happiness to our brothers and sisters, by renouncing our egos, and abandoning hatred and envy.
God the Father does not desires any soul to fall into the hands of Satan.
Therefore, at this moment of New Year's Eve, God the Father invites all humanity to come to God the Father and Mother Mary, to be blessed by God and Mother Mary and to have peace and happiness bestowed upon all humanity, as well as being granted more strength so that everyone may recognize our sins and weaknesses, to prostrate ourselves in humility and self-abased in the presence of God, imploring Him to wash away our sins and bestow His grace.
These are all the things God desires to teach all humanity in this new year: listen to and be determined to do what God the Father teaches to attain the happiness of the Kingdom of Heaven.
Thanks be to God. Amen
