"Woman, behold, your son." (Jn 19:26)

READING OF THE DAY

A reading from the Book of Genesis

Gn 3:9-15, 20

After Adam had eaten of the tree,

the LORD God called to him and asked him, “Where are you?”

He answered, “I heard you in the garden;

but I was afraid, because I was naked,

so I hid myself.”

Then he asked, “Who told you that you were naked?

You have eaten, then,

from the tree of which I had forbidden you to eat!”

The man replied, “The woman whom you put here with me—

she gave me fruit from the tree, and so I ate it.”

The LORD God then asked the woman,

“Why did you do such a thing?”

The woman answered, “The serpent tricked me into it, so I ate it.”

Then the LORD God said to the serpent:

“Because you have done this, you shall be banned

from all the animals

and from all the wild creatures;

On your belly shall you crawl,

and dirt shall you eat

all the days of your life.

I will put enmity between you and the woman,

and between your offspring and hers;

He will strike at your head,

while you strike at his heel.”

The man called his wife Eve,

because she became the mother of all the living.

GOSPEL OF THE DAY

From the Gospel according to John

Jn 19:25-34

Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother

and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas,

and Mary of Magdala.

When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved,

he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son.”

Then he said to the disciple,

“Behold, your mother.”

And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.

After this, aware that everything was now finished,

in order that the Scripture might be fulfilled,

Jesus said, “I thirst.”

There was a vessel filled with common wine.

So they put a sponge soaked in wine on a sprig of hyssop

and put it up to his mouth.

When Jesus had taken the wine, he said,

“It is finished.”

And bowing his head, he handed over the spirit.

Now since it was preparation day,

in order that the bodies might not remain on the cross on the sabbath,

for the sabbath day of that week was a solemn one,

the Jews asked Pilate that their legs be broken

and they be taken down.

So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first

and then of the other one who was crucified with Jesus.

But when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead,

they did not break his legs,

but one soldier thrust his lance into his side,

and immediately Blood and water flowed out.

MONDAY OF THE VII WEEK OF ORDINARY TIME - Memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church - Jn 19:25-34

THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE

Dear People of God,

Before Jesus Christ breathed His last on the Cross, standing near the cross were His mother and the disciple He loved. Jesus said to His beloved Mother: "'Woman, behold, your son.'Then he said to the disciple, 'Behold, your mother.'”

The Blessed Mother Mary is the Immaculate Conception. God chose and predestined her from all eternity when He established salvation. She was given the title Mother of God when she conceived the Son of God who came to earth and became a human being, under the power of the Holy Spirit. Throughout the Church's history, the Holy Spirit let the Church know that God gave her the privilege of both body and soul to ascend to heaven and the title of Ever-Virgin Mary. The Holy Spirit enlightened those four privileges to reveal to the Church what God had predestined for Mary in the work of salvation.

And in this era, the Holy Spirit has enlightened the Church to know another privilege, the Blessed Virgin Mary is the Mother of the Church. These titles are not new to her, but God chose and predestined her from ancient times. Why is she called the Mother of the Church? It is because Jesus Christ established the Church, and He established the Church as the body of Christ. Meanwhile, she was predestined to be the Mother of Jesus, the Mother of God, and that grace continued until the second coming of Jesus, which was the end of the work of human salvation. When Mary was named Mother of the Church, she was also the Mother of each person. She always loves and intercedes with God the Father for all of His children. She is no longer in a human body like when she was alive on earth, but she is always watching over and accompanying people in every moment in the kingdom of God. She asked God the Father to protect the Church, to protect all of the children of God from the power of darkness in this world.

She was allowed by God to accompany humans, as she appeared at Fatima and at Lourdes. The message of Our Lady of Fatima is a call from the Mother of God to humanity as she performed many visible miracles. “Repent, abandon your sinful ways, and return to God; pray the Rosary diligently, because it is the weapon that I give you to fight Satan. Therefore, I advise all my children to always carry the Rosary with them and pray constantly. Do not forget to pray the Rosary!" Pray the Rosary diligently; Because through the prayers of the Rosary, God will reveal to people the will of God, to enter into the mystery of salvation of Jesus Christ, to contemplate the life of Jesus Christ and a part about Mother Mary, through the Four Mysteries: Joyful, Sorrowful, Luminous, and Glorious.

She is the Mother of all humanity. She always accompanies the human race. When Jesus Christ ascended to heaven, she prayed for the Holy Spirit to pour out grace on all the disciples in the past as well as today, because Her heart was always filled with grace and the spirit of the Holy Spirit. So now, dear children of Mary, listen to what she taught at the wedding at Cana: “Do whatever he tells you.”

Thanks be to God. Amen
