MONDAY OF THE THIRTY-SECOND WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME -Gospel (Lk 17:1-6) - THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE

“Things that cause sin will inevitably occur, but woe to the one through whom they occur.” (Lk 17:1)
FIRST READING - Ti 1:1-9
A reading from the Letter to Timothy
Paul, a slave of God and Apostle of Jesus Christ
for the sake of the faith of God's chosen ones
and the recognition of religious truth,
in the hope of eternal life
that God, who does not lie, promised before time began,
who indeed at the proper time revealed his word
in the proclamation with which I was entrusted
by the command of God our savior,
to Titus, my true child in our common faith:
grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our savior.
For this reason I left you in Crete
so that you might set right what remains to be done
and appoint presbyters in every town, as I directed you,
on condition that a man be blameless,
married only once, with believing children
who are not accused of licentiousness or rebellious.
For a bishop as God's steward must be blameless, not arrogant,
not irritable, not a drunkard, not aggressive,
not greedy for sordid gain, but hospitable, a lover of goodness,
temperate, just, holy, and self-controlled,
holding fast to the true message as taught
so that he will be able both to exhort with sound doctrine
and to refute opponents.
GOSPEL OF THE DAY - Lk 17:1-6
From the Gospel according to Luke
Jesus said to his disciples,
"Things that cause sin will inevitably occur,
but woe to the one through whom they occur.
It would be better for him if a millstone were put around his neck
and he be thrown into the sea
than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin.
Be on your guard!
If your brother sins, rebuke him;
and if he repents, forgive him.
And if he wrongs you seven times in one day
and returns to you seven times saying, 'I am sorry,'
you should forgive him."
And the Apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith."
The Lord replied, "If you have faith the size of a mustard seed,
you would say to this mulberry tree,
'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it would obey you."

MONDAY OF THE THIRTY-SECOND WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME -Gospel (Lk 17:1-6)
THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE
Dear People of God,
The Word of God today teaches everyone to always live in meekness, moderation, and wisdom, always be a shining example through our own lives, do not cause others to stumble.
There are things that God allows to happen in life to purify, teach, and guide humanity to perfection as God desires.
These are the good things that God gives to everyone.
In addition, Satan will take advantage of the purification that God sends to humankind to destroy God's work, destroy those who walk in His plan, and steal our souls.
Therefore, God wants everyone to be vigilant in all places and at all times, vigilant in our words and actions, so as not to cause others to sin; because a stumbling block created by humans will affect the lives of many souls.
God's teachings to humanity in today's world: do not cause stumbling blocks to others; always live wisely and be vigilant to Satan's temptations; never indulge in lustful desires, sins, and passions, because those are bad actions that cause wrongdoing to others.
Among the things God wants to purify people of, He will also allow obstacles and difficulties to happen, in order to test our loyalty.
Following that, God teaches humankind to always know to forgive and live in love. That is the commandment God teaches humanity.
What comes from God is always good; everyone should obey and follow God's commandments in order to enjoy happiness in the eternal Kingdom of Heaven in the future.
When humanity completely obeys God's will, we will overcome all the difficulties and challenges in this world.
We must overcome all difficulties resulting from sin which involves hatred and jealousy.
For where there is hatred, jealousy, and envy in humanity, there will be no forgiveness, no sympathy, and no joy of true peace.
Today's Word of God calls on everyone to maintain absolute faith in God's love and to learn to forgive our fellow human beings.
Whenever we forgive our fellow human beings, we are also receiving love and forgiveness from God.
Thanks be to God. Amen.
