"You will see the sky opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man." (Jn 1,51)

READING OF THE WAY

A reading from the Book of Revelation

Rv 21:9b-14

The angel spoke to me, saying,

"Come here.

I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb."

He took me in spirit to a great, high mountain

and showed me the holy city Jerusalem

coming down out of heaven from God.

It gleamed with the splendor of God.

Its radiance was like that of a precious stone,

like jasper, clear as crystal.

It had a massive, high wall,

with twelve gates where twelve angels were stationed

and on which names were inscribed,

the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel.

There were three gates facing east,

three north, three south, and three west.

The wall of the city had twelve courses of stones as its foundation,

on which were inscribed the twelve names

of the twelve Apostles of the Lamb.

GOSPEL OF THE DAY

From the Gospel according to John

Jn 1:45-51

Philip found Nathanael and told him,

"We have found the one about whom Moses wrote in the law,

and also the prophets, Jesus son of Joseph, from Nazareth."

But Nathanael said to him,

"Can anything good come from Nazareth?"

Philip said to him, "Come and see."

Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said of him,

"Here is a true child of Israel.

There is no duplicity in him."

Nathanael said to him, "How do you know me?"

Jesus answered and said to him,

"Before Philip called you, I saw you under the fig tree."

Nathanael answered him,

"Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel."

Jesus answered and said to him,

"Do you believe

because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree?

You will see greater things than this."

And he said to him, "Amen, amen, I say to you,

you will see heaven opened and the angels of God

ascending and descending on the Son of Man."

THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE

The Word of God for Everyone

Dear People of God,

Today's Word of God recounts the dialogue between Jesus and His disciples, especially with the apostle Nathanael. God wants to show everyone that He is the One who is full of power and has full authority in heaven and on earth. He sees everything and knows the heart of each person. Through the dialogue with Nathanael, God shows humankind His absolute power over humans and His love for all humanity.

God Himself came down to earth to become a human being to redeem the sins of all humanity, and He bestows His love upon each person. The apostle Nathanael first met Jesus, and heard Jesus tell the truth about Nathaniel's true self and the events that happened to him. He believed and proclaimed: "Rabbi, you are the Son of God." Through that, Jesus showed everyone that He could do even greater things than what Nathanael saw. He said: "Amen, amen, I say to you, you will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man."

God will manifest His strength and power in the souls of those who have absolute faith in Him.

Therefore, the Word of God today calls everyone:

- To put our absolute trust in God, because He has full authority and can do everything in heaven and on earth.

-Those who want to call on God's Holy name must have absolute trust in His power because He is the Savior, the Messiah, and He is always present with humans right here on earth. God does not want anyone to lose faith in Him which resulted in our soul being separated from Him.

- Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came to earth to become a human being. He is the center that brings salvation to all humanity. Therefore, anyone who absolutely believes in God as the Savior will receive the graces according to our faith in God.

- God loves all of His children. He sees clearly every thought, word, and deed of each person. Therefore, God always patiently waits and opens His arms to welcome and call His children to: 'Abandon the path of sin, convert, repent and return to the God of Love.'

The Word of God today teaches us:

- To have absolute faith in God's love and power, because He knows the thoughts and desires of each person, and always wants to do all good things for humans.

- He will bestow blessings and graces on those who believe, rely, and have absolute trust in His power and mercy according to our faith in God.

- In the work of the Holy Spirit, there have been many Nathanaels of this era who have been revealed by the Spirit of the Holy Spirit "the truth about our true selves and the truth about what happening in our lives." Knowing how to recognize the sins and mistakes that have offended God. That is the greatest grace for humanity of this era. God the Father also revealed to humankind that if we believe in this work, He will show many things about the mystery of the Kingdom of Heaven, we will see the angels of God ascending and descending on the people chosen by God the Father in this new era, on angel Thiên Thương.
