FIRST READING - 1 Jn 2:29 - 3:6
"No one who remains in him sins."
A reading from the letter of John
29 If you consider that he is righteous, you also know that everyone who acts in righteousness is begotten by him.
1 [a]See what love the Father has bestowed on us that we may be called the children of God. Yet so we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 2 Beloved, we are God’s children now; what we shall be has not yet been revealed. We do know that when it is revealed[b] we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. 3 Everyone who has this hope based on him makes himself pure, as he is pure.
4 Everyone who commits sin commits lawlessness, for sin is lawlessness.[c] 5 You know that he was revealed to take away sins, and in him there is no sin. 6 No one who remains in him sins; no one who sins has seen him or known him.

29 The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God,[a] who takes away the sin of the world. 30 [b]He is the one of whom I said, ‘A man is coming after me who ranks ahead of me because he existed before me.’ 31 I did not know him,[c] but the reason why I came baptizing with water was that he might be made known to Israel.” 32 John testified further, saying, “I saw the Spirit come down like a dove[d] from the sky and remain upon him. 33 I did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘On whomever you see the Spirit come down and remain, he is the one who will baptize with the holy Spirit.’ 34 [e]Now I have seen and testified that he is the Son of God.”

THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE
Dear People of God,
Today's Word of God speaks of Saint John the Baptist bearing witness to Jesus Christ, who is the Son of God coming into the world as man.
Saint John said: “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.”
He is the spotless Lamb, foretold by the prophet Isaiah as the faithful servant of God, the Lamb whom God sent down to earth to atone for the sins of humanity.
God also reveals that no one can atone for the sins of humanity, and no one loves mankind as much as God Himself. He gave His own life to sacrifice and die to redeem human sins, saving humanity from the captivity of Satan.
The testimony of Saint John helps everyone understand more clearly that Jesus Christ is God. This is shown when Saint John the Baptist baptized Jesus in the Jordan River, God the Father allowed Saint John to see the Spirit of the Holy Ghost descending upon Jesus Christ as a dove, and a voice from heaven proclaimed: “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”
Today, this testimony continues to echo to all humanity that Jesus Christ is truly God and the Son of God who came down to earth and became man to atone for the sins of humanity. He wipes away all sins, filth, and defilement when people sin and sincerely repent and return to God the Father.
Only the unique love, by which the Son of God was born and came down to earth as man, has the power to drive away all sin and all suffering from the human soul and body.
Today, God calls all humanity to:
Believe in the testimony of Saint John as a true one, for he believed and dedicated his whole life to proclaim that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came down to earth as man, to preach, and to bear witness to God coming down to earth as man in order to wipe away all suffering and all sin for mankind.
run toward God, for only He can soothe the suffering caused by the sin that humanity has committed for so long.
God loves mankind; He always opens His arms wide to await everyone who returns and rushes to embrace His loving heart.
