FIRST READING - Is 55:10-11
"So shall my word be achieving the end for which I sent it."
A reading from the Book of Isaiah
10 [a]Yet just as from the heavens
the rain and snow come down
And do not return there
till they have watered the earth,
making it fertile and fruitful,
Giving seed to the one who sows
and bread to the one who eats,
11 So shall my word be
that goes forth from my mouth;
It shall not return to me empty,
but shall do what pleases me,
achieving the end for which I sent it.
GOSPEL OF THE DAY - Mt 6:7-15
"This is how you are to pray."
✠From the Gospel according to Matthew
7 [a]In praying, do not babble like the pagans, who think that they will be heard because of their many words.[b] 8 Do not be like them. Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
[c]“This is how you are to pray:
Our Father in heaven,[d]
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,[e]
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
11 [f]Give us today our daily bread;12
and forgive us our debts,[g]
as we forgive our debtors;
13and do not subject us to the final test,[h]
but deliver us from the evil one.
14 [i]If you forgive others their transgressions, your heavenly Father will forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your transgressions.

1st TUESDAY OF LENT - Gospel (Matthew 6:7-15)
THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE
Dear people of God,
In today's Word, God lets humanity know that no religion, no deity loves human beings and is as close to humanity as God.
God always cares for and teaches humanity meticulously; He teaches humanity how to pray in a way that pleases God -- something no other deity can teach human beings to do.
The prayer is The Lord's Prayer. Nor is there any prayer that brings happiness and eternal life to humanity like the “Our Father,” which Jesus taught to His disciples and to all people in this world. This is the prayer that brings happiness and eternal life to humanity. It is a living prayer, not merely a theoretical prayer spoken on the lips.
God wants humans to correctly practice their petitions to their Most High, to their loving and merciful Father; for all humans are sinners before God, and no one is righteous before Him.
When humans address God the Father: "Our Father who art in heaven." God reveals an important message: God is the Father of all creatures, namely mankind and angels.
For mankind, God does not distinguish between the good and the wicked, the rich and the poor, the hungry and the full, the pagan or the Catholic. "Our Father who art in heaven" also has an important meaning that all humans are brothers and sisters to one another because we have only one Father in heaven.
Therefore, let humans examine their behavior: do we truly regard everyone as our brothers and sisters? If we are truly brothers and sisters, we must
Know how to forgive our brothers and sisters. Do not harbor hatred or jealousy; for hatred causes sin, and sin does not belong to God.
For in His Kingdom there is no hatred, but only love. Whoever wants to follow Satan may keep hatred, jealousy, envy, and pride. But whoever wants to follow God should live in love, forgiveness, kindness, altruism, and humility.
God always gives humans freedom. Whoever chooses God should live the things that God teaches in the Lord's Prayer, while whoever follows Satan may keep hatred within themselves.
Whoever is living in hatred and jealousy must forgive their fellow human beings, so that they themselves may also be forgiven for their sins by God.
Return to God and abandon the sinful self so that you may be closely united with Him and so that "Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven."
That means humans must live holily right here on this earth, so that heaven and earth are not divided and separated, but are one.
Heaven is earth, and earth becomes Heaven. Today, the Lord's Prayer that God teaches humans focuses on two commandments of God: love God above all things and love your neighbor as yourself.
Thanks be to God. Amen.
